Some Of the Worst Advice Given On AZB

Didn't you notice that everyone else was wearing Jordan Airs?
...even white guys can jump whilst wearing them.

Are you saying I should get some Jordan Airs?
I had bought the bright yellow shoestrings and quickly realized that I should have ordered the shoestring's color to match the blue on the shoe. Niki told me they couldn't order them for me.:D They gave me the name of another company and I ordered the blue shoestrings to match and of course, they don't. hmmmph..

"you must gamble to get better" is hands down, the silliest advice ever.

Granted, it might help shortstop speed players improve their nerves and such. Basically, the ability to play under pressure.

But for the rest of the world, it won't help at all. An APA 4 with a bad stroke, poor mechanics, poor PSR, and inconsistent strategy is NEVER going to suddenly improve all those flaws by playing races to 5 for $20 over a few weeks or even a few months or even a year.

Fix /improve that repeatable straight stroke before you ever gamble one thin dime ;)

This is the one that has been bugging me for years here....

I already put too much pressure on myself in a silly league match. If I start gambling, "because its the only way I'll get better", I will end up quitting after losing too goddamned much money.

My favorite was the lady from the US Open "if you come back again next year I promise we won't screw you again"

What was some of the worst advice given on AZB that you read over the years? Don't be shy, anything goes...even aiming.

To me it's the ones telling you how to shoot a shot, sell some aiming system, W/O admitting you need a repeatable straight level stroke. When you point that out, they go all crickets on you.

Another is cleaning pool balls. Don't use anything harsh on them, you will wear them down. Pool balls don't need to have a plus or minus of half a thousand like parts for a spacecraft...they're pool balls for God sake. Buy another set once in awhile. Johnnyt

That's not really bad advice, however it ignores the fact that everyone is different, something I have found most "teachers" ignore.

Several times posters have stated that "The way to avoid putting spin on the cue ball is to hit it on the verticle axis." The thing is, when they say this they tend to say it in in an off -hand, non-chalant manner. I always think, Well....yeah, but are you also hitting with a perfectly straight stroke every time. If so I guess you never miss!

I once dated a girl who was a little thick. She wanted to lose weight and for a couple months she wasn't seeing any results. I asked her what she was doing and she said, nothing really but I started drinking slim fast shakes with every meal". She totally freaked when I told her that was the meal.

LOL. Just saw this one ;) Reminds me of the Mean Girls movie, when they gave the hot cheerleader Swedish weight loss bars to help her lose 5 pounds.

What they actually gave her were the weight gain bars the football players used. Yep, the head cheerleader gained a LOT of weight ;)

The easiest way to lose weight is to start playing better...
....if you play like SVB, NOBODY will give you weight.

My personal favorite for worst advice?
It's the Indian, the arrow doesn't matter.
....I like to gamble with people who think like that....I'll pick their cue.

Yes, I just heard some. Hanging your cue (I assume cue parts) for long term storage.
Have you ever, or have you ever heard of anyone storing their cue by hanging it. Never in my life have I heard of such nonsense, but there it was, plain as day.
I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My question is, why?
