Here's some pics from the quake. Our place was lucky, the manager was planning to move next month anyways. At least 3 other pool halls got completely destroyed by the tsunami. Luckily, we got a hold of most if not all of the pool players that got hit by the wave. It seems like they all got away safely.
Only one table broke. It looks like the leg detached from the body, which caused the rest of the table to fall and ended up crushing the frame that the legs are attached to. Moral of the story: Don't hide under a pool table in an earthquake. All of the tables except one separated themselves from the plastic "feet" under the legs.
Most serious pool halls in Japan let their regular customers hang their cues on the wall. On our wall there is probably $30,000+ worth of cues. Not one cue fell off the wall in the quake.
