Someone ever shoot your ball in? Ruling needed!

Whats unsportsmanlike is when I repeatedly bash my opponent's head against the hard part of the rail until he loses consciousness. I think that's a one point penalty foul.

This is the ultimate solution , since there is never any doubt, left in anyones mind, as to what the penalty will be, in the future.

I've shot my opponents balls in giving up ball in hand to force them to shoot or breakup a ball etc. but last night my opponent failed to run out due to the fact the 8ball was locked on my ball near a corner pocket. On My trip to the table I missed two attempts to break it out and ran 5balls off. My 6th shot I banked my ball to same end to give my self a breakout & a safe ball to get hits on, while leaving my cue ball frozen on end rail 7ft away with his 8 ball behind my other ball. This is when he shot my ball in.....without using the cueball! is this the same ball in hand foul as if you did it with ball? Never seen this done before. lol I still won cause the safe I played anyway but I would like a AZ ruling!

That's a flagrant and unsportsmanlike foul, loss of game.

I would say un-sportsman like conduct, and award you ball in hand. I wouldn't consider it any different than him shooting the ball in with the cue ball. I he protested it further, I'd award you the game, if it continued I'd award you the match and ban him.

Black Cat

Well it's clearly a ball in hand foul, but past that, he is deliberately breaking the rules to gain an advantage. It's like someone sweeping balls around the table with their cue or hand. It should be loss of game immediately, no warning. At best the ref should replace the ball where it was and give the other player ball in hand. I would not allow the incoming player to shoot from such a disadvantage. Sure the guy could have shot his ball in with the cue, that is fine. But not using the cue, that is not the game. It's too much like those dopes that play behind the line fouls but you have to shoot up and down the table to make the hit, so if the 8 ball and cueball is behind the line, they just shoot the cue in the pocket and now you need to kick at the 8 and possibly lose because they fouled.

As others have said, in APA you can replace your ball where it was since he didn't move it with the cue ball. I am not sure the ruling in BCA however it is typical that moving the balls with anything other than the CB is not allowed.

What I did and what I'm gonna do.

It the time I took ball in hand and won game but next week I'm gonna have the director say we had this happen last week and it will be a loss going forward. we are going to give this guy a little respect by not pointing him out. (He made for a good tournament filler)

I would've just shot my last ball and the 8 ball with my cue stick, then gone over and gave him a quick 'dead fish' handshake while saying 'great game'...

i have trouble identifying with a legal shot being called unsportsmanship

in one pocket, which is all i play anymore,it is the norm to shoot any shot that makes it hard on your opponent

but there could easily be something that i am missing

I'm lost. Which legal shot are you referring to? The shot in the OP is not legal under any rule set.

You must be the guy in the bar that plays a safety hitting my ball first.
