Anyone here having problems with Somonis getting wrinkles a couple days after stretching it on a bar table. No this is not a glue issue. When we re-stretched it well very well attached. If so how did you cure the problem.

Thanks in advance!!!

No offense, but in my experience, I'd say you're either not getting it on qiute tight enough, or the glue isn't holding as well as you think.

Yep
or it's too humid - run the a/c overnight and check in the morning

I work with Simonis almost daily and don't have a problem with wrinkles, unless you're refering to stretch shadows as wrinkles.

I dont think youre doing anything wrong. Here in Michigan it is very humid in the summer and very dry in the winter. I have installed tables in basements with wood furnaces in the dead of winter and have gotten the cloth tight enough to play a tune on. When spring comes the cloth will pucker if he does not run a dehumidifier. This is especially so if it's in a below-grade basement. The cloth will still be glued down. That's not it. We hear from people out west who have the same problem when the bar kicks on the "swamp coolers". Just tell the location or home owner that he will have to run the ac or dehumidifier or the bill is on him. I can empty a 5 quart dehumidifier twice a day in the summer (95% humidity) in my basement and have to run a humidifier all winter long. Keep up the good work and dont let the idiots get to you.

Just call it the good stuff (easier to spell and pronounce) and let others try to figure it out :D

That is the conclusion that we come too! We went back and restretched these tables 4 times now. Everytime the glue has been stuck. But when you push your hand on the cloth it will slightly wrinkle up. Well lets just say we did it for the last time for free. Both Q-Ball and I and several others has put this off due to high humidity in the room. They was stretched so tight you could bounce a quater a foot high off of them. Mr P. thanks for your input on this and everyone else that has replied. We still can't convince the owner of the room that it is a humidity problem. But what do you do!!!!

Thanks

As mentioned - turn on the ac.
This should pull a lot of the humidity.

We have told him to leave the AC on. He says he does, but I am sure he doesn't. He is also a big user of Chalk off. Which I am positive that is part of the problem also.

I think there's a little more to it than this. Ask the owner of the tables how he's cleaning them, because if it's with a wet bar cloth, that's what's making them loosen up over and over.

He cleans them with Chalk off. Which is part of the problem. We told him not to use it everyday. Try using it once a week. Well lets say it went in one ear and out the other.

Apparently the problem is two-fold and you've identified them both.
Humidity and overuse of Chalk-Off
Any other rooms to play at in the area? That would send the best message.

I used to use QuickClean (same thing) every day on our tables. Didn't hurt a thing and we never had that problem. Now if he's drenching the tables with it, of course that would make a difference, but just the light misting like you're supposed to won't cause the cloth to feel loose.

Well you would think that Quick Clean and Chalk Off are the same thing. They are not. Quick Clean dries in about 60 seconds so you have to get on it quickly. Where Chalk Off doesn't dry fast at all. It will penetrate into the cloth and takes a while to dry. Not sure of exactly how long but at least a hour from what I can tell from a test area. And yes he uses a lot of Chalk Off. He buys it by the case.

Thanks everyone for your input on this. Both of us decided that we can't go back and do anymore free work there.

other roooms we do in the area.

Yes there is several other rooms in the St.Louis area that we do all the tables at. This is the ONLY one we have a problem with. And guess what????? None of the other rooms use Chalk Off! Imagine that! LOL

If you ever come done this way look me up!

Thanks:
