There are a few that have had that effect on me at different times, but I think those were more dependent on what my mood was at that particular time and the setting - pool room or bar.

Ever since TCOM, there has been one song that consistently "does it for me" so to speak, regardless of how I feel or where I'm playing and that is "It's in the way that you use it" by Eric Clapton.

I am a firm believer in music affecting mood and mood affecting play, even though im over 40 I like up-beat music,it makes me feel better,I dont like music that makes me think and the louder it is the better,I like kid rock,50 cent,akon,tupac...etc

For me, it isn't one song...but an album: The Forrest Gump Soundtrack.

I love the way it passes through a mini history of Rock. It begins with Hound Dog by Elvis, and ends with Bob Segar & The Silver Bullet Band's
Against the Wind. 17 songs in all....every one a hit of it's time.

When I'm drunk and bored while playing, I have someone play some older Metallica to wake my ass up! Either "One", or something from Master of Puppets, like "Battery" or "Orion".....if you know Metallica, you'd know what I'm talking about ;)

Battery is like the perfect song to wake up to.

Last week in league someone played some Sublime and Bob Marley. I was singing along as I was running away on my opponent. Ha.

Any Dylan tune works for me when playing.Interesting you should mention Like a Rolling Stone. The place I first started playing at had a fella who was a 1 man band with a tip jar sitting in front of him.He would allways play some Dylan for me and knew I liked that song when playing for $$.

Song that made you play your heart out

Standing Outside The Fire (Garth Brooks)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM9Ifh5WXXM

To me this is a song about not being afraid to try and win without fear/embarsment of losing. This song really gets me to want to play and compete even though I may get my a** kick.

Here is the lyrics:

We call them cool
Those hearts that have no scars to show
The ones that never do let go
And risk the tables being turned

We call them fools
Who have to dance within the flame
Who chance the sorrow and the shame
That always comes with getting burned

But you've got to be tough when consumed by desire
'Cause it's not enough just to stand outside the fire

We call them strong
Those who can face this world alone
Who seem to get by on their own
Those who will never take the fall

We call them weak
Who are unable to resist
The slightest chance love might exist
And for that forsake it all

They're so hell-bent on giving ,walking a wire
Convinced it's not living if you stand outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

There's this love that is burning
Deep in my soul
Constantly yearning to get out of control
Wanting to fly higher and higher
I can't abide
Standing outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

No song ever affected my game like that. You must posses some magical power.

I agree I tend to shoot my best when everything is zoned out and quiet but if I need woke up nothing like slipknot, mudvayne, or korn. Hey I love loud repulsive metal music what can I say....lol
