Southern Classic - One Pocket

Darren said last night...

"Play sylver Ocha again tmrw round 10 one pocket. Think around 8 players left everyone used there rebuy so guess straight k/o now ..3 wins for the title :-)"

hope that helps a little.

From about 9:30pm to 1:00am last night I was so into the SVB/Earl match that I missed the late 1P matches. I know Daz was one of the late matches....but I'm not 100% sure who it was against now that I think about it more.

He played, and lost to Alex. (10 ball on 10 ft)

Earlier he beat Ochoa. (1 hole)

If Daulton still has a buyback he is the favorite IMO.

I could see the finals being the winner of Daz/Ochoa and Daulton, but with the redraw you never can tell how things are going to work out.

Nine players left, only Shannon without a loss. Darren one round behind and may have to play Sylver again today. Weird huh!

Sorry, If I am off topic here!

Would it be a way to shake things up in local tournaments.. Like your local double elimination 8 ball tournament. Redraw winners and losers every round. Or is this just insane what I am saying?

Looks like the only ones left:

Appleton
Ochoa
Daulton (undefeated)
Justin Hall
Ryan Stone
Daniel McKenney

Appleton is now out. Ochoa down 0-2 and came back.

5 players left:

Daulton (undefeated)
Ochoa
Justin Hall
Ryan Stone
Daniel McKenney

Stone got the buy in round 10.

Round 10 matches:
Shannon Daulton (0) vs. Daniel McKenney (1)
Justin Hall (1) vs. Sylver Ochoa (1)

If Shannon wins, he has a 50/50 shot a buy into the finals with two barrels at his disposal. If he loses then it's 4 men, single elim.

That's assuming the re-draw system doesn't allow for someone to draw two buys in a row...that I don't know.

Hall is looking mighty strong for the overall.

Three left!

Hall got the bye. Daulton vs Stone coming up.

Good luck to Ryan Stone, he is a monster player and not to mention a great guy with a good head on his shoulders...total class act.

Shannon's game is heavily defensive, and slows the best players down to the level where they are taking low % shots and leave shots. Even-though i like Justin, or Ryan to win, but they have no chance with well experienced one pocket player, not like Scott Frost shoots crazy shots and hope they go, cannot do that in real one pocket.
