Southwest?

Why don't you just contact Southwest and see if you can send them the cue for verification? If it is a true Southwest, maybe they can replace the pin for you while it is there.

This may cost you a few bucks but it may be worth it in the long run, if it is a true Southwest.

From those pictures my vote is no. The proportions look wrong. As other said better pictures that show the tip of the pin and under the rubber bumpers would help.

Hello guys, it looks like i'm lucky enough to met the first owner of this cue. According to his story, i found out that the cue pin originally has no serial or cactus logo, but for the authentication there was a certificate letter. which is now no longer exist for some reason. Here's another picture of this cue.

From the pics of the pin and inside the butt cap I think many will agree its a predate SW. IMO if you want to be 100% sure, sending it to Laurie for another authentication is the best choice.

Thanks L.C Hui, i think it is predate too. Maybe i'll contact Laurie for confirmation and also authentication too if it's possible.

Could be a predate South West.
I've heard however that there is a gang of wayward collectors out there removing the number & cactus from real South West cues,
and passing them off as imports...:banghead:

Looks real to me, the wear on it, finish patina, shaft quality (grain on the shafts look like from a quality hunk of wood), all point to an older quality cue. Not so much a knock-off.

You'll probably need an expert to look it over though to verify. S/N missing is odd, but could be several reasons for that as already posted.

Ted-put down the Jack & Coke and slowly back away. :thud:

It's just what I heard, and it could be true.
Where do you think all of these South West cues are going?
Kind of strange that we are seeing fewer South West cues on Ebay and more imports, or cues that could be imports...

LOL...now that's funny.

I've Got 2 available for sales, one in 2008 and one in 1996 if anyone is looking for one..just check my post. I would be interested in the cue is this thread...definitely a predate....is it ebony or dark cocobola?

Duc.

Never heard before about collectors like that cuesblues. Is it trully happen? i mean, it's SW we're talking about and the pin serial+cactus logo is always the easy way to recognize the cues brand.

As soon as i look at the inside of the bumper, i think it is SW too. But yes i still need an opinion from a cues expert to make sure of it.

It's ebony cuemaster98, i don't know if it's for sale or not. I'll ask the owner and i'll let you know if it's for sale.

Most of the South West "Import Tribute" cues with the numbers and cactus removed, end up with Asian collectors.
Like I said, I just heard about it.
I met an old hippie cuemaker who claims he ran with the gang, and I believed him...
