Sponsor For US Mosconi Cup Team

If your market is the remaining US pool enthusiasts then your best bet would be Viagra.

JC

I hear you but that might only be in your area. I go to tournaments regularly and the players are mostly between 20 and 40ish.

Pool probably has one of the widest demographics of any sport. Viagra is a good global brand though that could tie in perfectly, obvious jokes and all.

Viagra, we take care of the hard part, the stroke is on you.

Professional Pool players always have a hard shaft and a straight stroke. You should too, try Viagra.

What would be fun, at least for me or us as Americans, what if an American owner of a British Premier League Football Club (or Soccer Team) were to sponsor the American Mosconi Cup Team?

Fun for us, detrimental to the Football Club?

You seem to know mark Wilson
How did Oscar not make the team ?

I know you as well and you didn't even make the final 8. Guess I'm not a good enough friend to you or Oscar as you thought. :). .

It would be silly for me to have any influence on who was chosen just because I am friends with someone. Beyond the fact that I am a nobody and can't draw my ball.

Is there any sort of formal pitch for the sponsorship? Anything that could be sent to the advertising departments IF we got any nibbles at this late date?

I thought maybe you have heard how mark picked ?
On record he didn't do a good job getting our best players .
That is just my opinion .
Your right I never had a shot to make the team
Why would we want a guy who travels to players home pool halls takes all bets and fades the home fans .

I can let you know that SVB is skipping the Japan Open, a point event that possibly could cost him the #1 ranking, so he can be with the US team from Nov 21st til they leave for England.

You say that like it is a good thing...

Do you know where Team Europe will be? In Japan competing with the best players in the world on the international pool scene.

That is why Team Europe pulled away from the USA in the first place. They put themselves out there and play at the highest level the sport has to offer and the players in the USA did not.

Now SVB, the only guy the USA has that actually plays proper professional pool on the world stage is skipping a key international event with a world class field?

That is another step in the wrong direction folks.

No JB. At this time, the contact needs to be in a reverse situation. Guess somehow that is still not clear. I don't think 'we' need to be sending out blind emails on the behalf of Mark Wilson or the US Mosconi Cup team. If you (being someone in the pool industry or anyone else is the industry) would consider sponsoring the US Mosconi Cup team, please reach out to Mark in the email address provided so any details can be discussed. Or if you went to college with or are sleeping with the sister of the CEO of XYZ company and the guy likes to put his company name on worthwhile causes such as this, maybe this is a good opportunity for them as well.

(Also please don't use Mark's email to let him know that he should have picked your favorite pro and you can't believe he didn't make the team)

Not sure but you can probably find a thread or two on AZ that discusses this point ad nausea. Let me know if you need me to provide some links. ;)

how about a US distributor of import beer & wine, as well as domestic beer, bottled water, bottled tea, & Mikes Hard Lemonade?

it'd be exposure for their suppliers in the US.
it'd be exposure for them in the UK/EUR as a distributor (for new lines).

Sigh.......

How much does something like sponsorship cost, just out of curiosity? Are there different levels?

Thanks for the non-answer, I guess. I wish there was a delete function on the forum software, so I could retract my post in this thread. :sorry:

Sigh . . .

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought Coke was going head to head with Pepsi in Asia like it did here in the states years ago where both Titans were spending big bucks in advertising... Those would be the 2 trophy bucks I was tracking first.....

Beer companies don't do much business in Europe or Asia...however, liquor companies (Jack Daniels, Johnny Walker, etc.) do...and they advertise like crazy. The bigger e-cig companies also do a lot of business in the EU.

Rolex will put their name on just about anything. What Mark needs is a marketing firm to pick this up and take a cut for the service of getting sponsors lined up. Not a lot of time, though...

I answered you in my first sentence of post #4. I don't believe Mark has a finite price on sponsorship.

For Pink Lady and others
If anyone has a direct connection or desire to sponsor the US Mosconi Cup, please reach out to Mark. The companies etc given are all good ideas but these companies get 100s of requests so unless there is a direct contact, at this stage it most likely won't amount to anything.

In the UK and Asia the Mosconi Cup is broadcast to millions. Sky Sports is like ESPN here.

And many of the degenerate players I know happen to be professionals in their fields with great jobs, some of them

The net worth of the players in the room I play at measures not in the millions but in the billions. (There are a couple of degenerates but less than 2 percent).

Ok well don't hold your breath waiting for the call.

But hopefully this thread will generate something positive.

i have ties w/ the owners. i offered to help months ago, including sponsorship for the Team to travel & do expos, but was told it was being handled. i assumed it was a bad idea at the time, but thought i'd bring it back up here, now.

at this late date, it'd be hard to get anyone corporate to jump, but it'd be worth a shot?
