Spot 5750 aka Hollywood Billiards CA

This one sentence from the article says it all:

"On an early Saturday evening, a few of the 20 tables are occupied with casual players knocking around the stripes and solids for $18 an hour."

They will NEVER make it as a pool hall, not even half a pool hall. They should give up the whole pool part right now. IMO the place will be for sale within one year. Another boondoggle!

Jeff went to the nightclub approach. With pool tables.

I actually saw the place. A real nice setup, for a nightclub. Forget any ideas of having a tournament or action there. If you want a pool hall, gotta go somewhere else. If your looking for a really nice place to hang out and have some food/drink, then check this place out.

One of these nights I'll take my girl there for some drinks, food and "banging".

Pool that is!! :D

Um.
If they want $18 bucks an hour for pool on a Saturday night, how much do they want for food and drink.

That isn't that unreasonable. When I closed my pool room in '02 I was getting $12 an hour for 4 players. It went up $2 per hour each additional player after that. I'm sure my rates would have gone up in the last 8 years.

Well before they even went the night club route...they were charging $3 for a coke. In a smallish glass. With tons of ice.

So...I think you get the picture. It wasn't cheap...but it was probably one of the 3 nicest pool rooms I'd ever been in. Too bad...because it used to be a great place to hold a tournament.
