Just a couple things to point out before confusion or mis-information happens.
MEKP is not used as a thinning agent, it is used as a catalyst to cause the resin to cure when tinting or coloring Solarez resin. As soon as you mix it in, the cure clock starts to tick and it will cure up, pot life depends on how much you mix in. They make a thinner/cleaner that is plant based and bio-degradable that works well and not as dangerous as acetone. I have thinned it, and it applies better and smoother, but it seems to make the surface tacky afterwards for a day or 2. Heating up a 4oz jar in the micro for about 20 seconds seems to thin it well, but the surface of the cue must be warm (85-95 degrees) otherwise the finish will thicken as you brush it on.
Joey, if you think the resin smells, try the thinner...it really stinks.
