Justed moved back to the STL from the east coast, and the only room I was familiar with is now gone... where do the players go? I would prefer the IL side of the river, but will deal with what I have to.

The Break in Cahokia or Riverbend Billiards on the Illinois side.

Just use the search feature on this site -- the St Louis subject seems to come up every couple of months.

There are also groups on Facebook.

Just PM me. All questions will be answered.

For action:
Hillsboro Billiards Hillsboro, MO - $1,000 added tournament this weekend

For Andy Quinn:
Redbirds off I-270

For daily play:
Kenny's Barnhart, MO
Cue & Cushion off I-70 by the airport

You can visit The Break in Cahokia. They have occasional tournaments out of there on the weekends.

Lou F. from AZ plays out of there...you might be able to play him some one pocket.

Nice place. Good food. Tables are good.

These below are about a 1/2 hour drive from the Break.

I think on the Missouri side, there is Cue and Cushion in Overland.

Hillsboro Billiards in Hillsboro, is where the action is if you want to gamble.

Teachers Billiards, aka Jak Wagons in St. Peters.

ABC Billairds in O'fallon, MO

Oh, see I'm late with suggestions.

Hey Watchez, what are the name of some of those groups? Are you talking about the bars/pool halls fb page, or a page dedicate to action/tournaments in the STL area?

@nineballsaftey8, let me know when you get settled in. I don't live in St. Louis but I am there from time to time and wouldn't mind meeting up for a game or 2.

Cdryden,

When you do make it over to St. Louis, you will not meet a better young man than NBS8 (as I call him on here).

Before he moved back there, he was near me in Maryland.

We did the league thing and managed to find an occasion or a few to hang out and shoot some around.

Enjoy the time you do get to play a few with him.

Thanks man, I'll check it out.

That's good to hear, he sounds like someone who I'd enjoy playing. I'm not out to take anyone's money, just looking to play new people and have a good time. If someone wants to play for a few bucks that's okay too, but no biggie either way. I know I will be at Cue and Cushion on December 14th but I'll be meeting with Mark Wilson for lessons all day. My wife bought me a early xmas present! (I had no idea she even knew who he was!) But maybe after the lessons if my back is still up to it I'd love to play some.

Till then....

There's also a St. Louis social group here on AZB, which is mostly dead, cuz I think everyone forgot about it. :/ http://forums.azbilliards.com/group.php?groupid=29

As for other rooms, there's Riverbend Billiards in Alton, IL - about 30 mins north of Downtown on the IL side.

What size tables do you prefer? Kenny's is a nice place, but only has one 9-footer. A ton of barboxes though. I haven't been to Hillborough yet, so I can't say how many they have.

The Break has 3, wait, 4? 9-footers and something like 15 barboxes.

Cue & Cushion has 15 9-footers, I think? Also a heated 3-cushion and a 10-foot snooker table.

Riverbend has at least four 9-footers, I think? Can't remember exactly, it's been a few years.

Haven't been to the other places already listed (ABC or Teachers). But if you're going to St. Charles, don't forget about Side Pockets, a ton of barboxes but again only 1 big table.

It seems as if everything on the IL side with the excepyion of Breakers has bar boxes...

I guess I got kinda spoiled with gold crowns and 9ft diamonds around every corner when i was out east.

I dont mind 8 ft'ers, but 7's are like kickin out the back door as far as I am concerned.

It seems that Redbirds is pretty nice, but $8 an hr seems pretty steep...

Ugh, I really don't want to have to wait to buy my house to set up my table to get in some decent time on a nice table without spending $40 or $50 every time I go...

I'm always down for a friendly game. I don't gamble anymore... but always enjoy a challenge or a tourney now and then.

At Cue & Cushion between the hours of 11am and 6pm the table time is $1.80/hr. (7 days a week) after that the table time is $3.60/hr.

There is always someone to play at the Cue.

Welcome back.

Brendan, why haven't I seen any tournament flyers or anything for that thing in Hillsborough this weekend? Or have I just missed them?

Thanks for posting that, Johnny. :)

are just not cool enough to know about it I guess. I don't think they did a great job of promoting it. Should be a good time and some good action though.

ooooh ... you.

Hey - going to Olathe next weekend? It's been a while since we hit some. ;)

Cdyrden - you're welcome. :)

Are there ever any straight pool or one pocket tournaments? I go to the Cue for league but it's mostly bangers and drinkers; when I play one pocket, I go up to Saratoga Lanes as they've got some 9 footers with pretty good quality tables but only a few, and I only go up with one friend as I don't know anybody else personally who plays one pocket. I'd prefer to go up to Cue and Cushion more but the people I play with typically want to drink a bit while they play. (I've personally never been to Hillsborough, the Break, or Kenny's)

I've spoken in another thread about it to you bmsclayton about playing in the area; I'm getting my game up to feel a bit more comfortable playing some folks (still with considerable weight most likely). Basically I'm getting a bit tired of playing down to bangers in APA league and scoring for four hours; it's fine for a night but it's not improving my game very much at all.

anytime

I am out a lot of nights playing somewhere. I mostly play one hole and I am considered terrible. Johnny I am going to Smoking Aces in Poplar Bluff that weekend for their $5000 added tourney. A bunch of us are going and I think I am in a big game that weekend. We played $300 a game one pocket a couple weeks ago.

I am prob stopping by Kenny's tonight to finish up the flyer for the $1000 added singles on Nov 23. Then on to Hillsboro for the mini and the action.
