I'm thinking about getting a wrap put on my hustler after I get my tax refund :o and I'm not sure what kind of wrap I want... a stack leather wrap would look awesome on it, but I'm just not sure. The cue matches my break cue (which is linked to in my sig) and I'm not sure what kind of wrap color/material/etc. to go with... any ideas? I don't have the cue yet so I can't post pics, but it's getting here soon. Also what kind of price will I be paying with which entity? Any cuemakers want to make an offer? :D
 
tigerproducts.com has a wide variety of stack leather wrap color combinations. I must say that a stack leather wrap by Tiger is the way to go. :)

Yep.
Tiger has The Nicest stacked leather wrap out there IMO.

Their customer service isn't to shabby either. :)
 
Ok that's what I was thinking about, I just wasn't sure if I wanted to spend $150 on a wrap :o
I think it would look awesome though, so I'll check it out.

I switched to stack about a year ago. Have Tiger do it. Their leather guy is the best in the business.

Their wrap is the greatest thing around. It plays like the difference between wrapless and leather. It has a little tack to it. It can be re-burnished a couple of times. I prefer one color. Mine is smooth black. They can get the surface perfectly level with the rest of the cue. And, with Tiger, about a 2 day turnaround.

I got my cue back, they cleaned it and polished it. Have a sniper put on while you're at it. I loved mine right away, but it just keeps getting better.

After six months to a year depending on your usage, it will need to be sealed and re-burnished if you want the like-new feel. They'll do it for you. Mine finally needs to be re-burnished. I'm going to take it to them next week.

You can't even tell it's stacked in that pic :p That's an amazing looking wrap. I'm going to end up getting dark brown suede penetration type I think... and the cue is coming with a sniper tip so I'm already covered there :)

That's a pretty good compliment coming from a guy that is doing some outstanding leather wraps himself.:)

same can be said for YOUR leather wraps, sir......yours are worth MORE than the dough you require.

If you have a hustler cue. I hope your cue is realy straight because they have to cut a wrap groove in your cue to install a wrap. That should cost ya 30 to 40 bucks I think. Just my 2 cent's.:)

I had Tiger (Ilya) put a stacked leather wrap on at Valley Forge earlier this year. I love it; both the look and the feel. I'm not a big fan of most leather wraps, but it has a nice combination of traits that I like. The way Ilya burnished it, it feels very close to a wrapless.

Would someone tell me how this stacked leather is made, or what exactly it is? I have a friend who has it on one of his cues, and it doesn't feel or look like leather at all to me. I am just trying to understand how its made and its advantages, as I have leather wraps on all my cues.

Wellll, it's made of a material called "leather", and it's wound around your cue. :D

Seriously, I LOVE Stack Leather wraps - when they're done correctly. TIGER developed stack leather so they're the best at installing it, but other CMs like Richard Hsu and Uncle Larry also do a great job installing stack leather.

Stack Leather is a loooooong string of leather which is wrapped around your cue, much like traditional linen is wound around. But when done properly, it's smooth like a one-piece yet with the cool looks of concentric circles. The tactile qualities are unique, in that you can feel the wrap yet it's still smooth and never spongy like most leather wraps.

In theory, it has dozens of "circular seams", but when properly installed ("stacked"), you can't feel them. At all.

Highly recommend you try Stack Leather on a cue or 2.

I have the stack wrap on three of my cues and one of them was done in Vegas 5 yrs. ago and is still perfect. It feels better than any wrap I've had in the 43 yrs. I've been playing. I would recommend it to anyone.
