I wouldn't even assume that Stan himself is using any system at this point. He is obviously playing really well right now. He might just be floating along in autopilot. Good for him. I know I'm impressed.

How do you get to autopilot though? You get there by learning and practicing until it becomes automatic. Stan lays out a foundation to allow a player to get into automatic mode.

Where's all the guys that have said that you will never see anyone using CTE do real good in a big tournament? (and Stan's not the only one using it in this tournament.;))

All I'd like to here form them is that there is something to it. Might not be for everyone, but there is something to it. (won't hold my breath waiting though)

You're right, Neil. There IS something to it. (Now you can stop holding your breath.) ;)

You're also right when you say Stan's not the only one using CTE in this tournament. Stevie Moore used it too. :duck:

When I read a post like this I'm reminded of certain episodes of "The Dog Whisper" where the owners are claiming that the big dogs in the house are always starting a fight with each other and/or picking on the littlest dog. They call in The Dog Whisper guy and he observes for a few minutes and says, "Nope. It's the little dog that's starting it all."

Stan deserves a round of applause for his Open performance. Let's not make this about Pro 1 or CTE because I'm guessing, if it goes thataway, the only thing that's going to happen is that the great showing by Stan is going to get buried under the usual pile of dog do-do.

Way to go, Stan.

There's not a thing wrong with Pro1 or CTE and only a cur dog would attempt to supply the dog do-do. Stan uses it all of the time and it is a fantastic way to learn how to aim. Pro1 is the Autopilot aiming method of Stan's refined CTE.

Pro1 is Stan Shuffett's SIGNATURE AIMING SYSTEM and he is trying to make a living teaching pool. People like you should just eat the crow and shut up.

Quit your hating and let people have a little fun.

Phil Burford also won his late night match, bringing him into the top 32 also. Pretty spectacular showing for a first time player in this event. Good luck to both Stan and Phil! Keep it going tomorrow!

Phil Burford uses "it" as well. Also Darren Appleton uses something similar called the SEE system.

I suspect a lot of players use what we now think of as "alternative" methods to aim but they just don't disclose what they use.

Like was said further up: I wonder what aiming system Alex uses?

I tried

Don't know but I could tell you what the guy who beat him at Turning Stone uses if I felt like it. I asked that guy flat out many years ago when he was working for us at one of the shows in Vegas. He showed me how he aims and told me why.

That guy is a gilt-edged bonafide Champeen.

Congratulations on your already great showing Stan. Hope you keep on going all the way back to playing in the finals. ......................

If he was working for you he probably had been issued his aluminum foil cap and decoder ring.

There is ONLY one "Stan the Man", and his last name is Musial, not "Shuffett" it's blatant plagiarism. Come up with something original. That moniker has long since been retired, and rightfully so.

I'll bet your house that "Stan the Man" was used by someone long before Musial attached to it.

Stan doesn't use "The Man," for what it's worth. I added that to the thread title simply because he IS the man and because it rhymes. Image that?

Yes, but, you'd have to admit "Stan the Man" is generally recognized to be Musial. I was introduced at a US Open one year as "St. Louie Louie" and I corrected the TD saying, "No. That one's been taken."

Personally I think your use of the moniker is a little preposterous, but that's just me.
