Any post you mention the word "cult", it is trolling, is it not? What does trolling mean to you? AFAIK no CTE users are trying to shove the system down anyone's throat. If someone is interested in learning, we usually are willing to help them, that is why any of us are here. Calling out CTE users as "cult members", "religious followers", etc. etc. pick your slander. It is TROLLING, plain an simple. I can pick many threads out where you make a slanderous comment to get a rise out of someone, I don't have to quote them for you.

In case you are misinformed about trolling:

definition: trolling; make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.

I think my observation here is level headed. Thanks for the compliment.

Your a good guy Mohrt, actually cookie cruncher and belvabich are probably alright guys.
I gotta ask you, how serious are you about your game. Is this system give you the feeling that your game is gonna become great? The way Stans presents it in his videos you would think there would be some pro1 champs showing up already. Why hasn't this happened?

That old argument again? You know as well as anyone that there is a whole lot more to this game than just aiming.

Thats is true Neil. The problem we have here is a man making shots behind a curtain and no pro's taking advantage of this system with so much potential and beating the world to death with it. There must be a reason this hasn't happened.

It's a totally objective center pocket aiming system, and quite easy to use

I'm sorry if the word "cult" seems inflammatory to you. It happens to be a good characterization of what goes on in this forum. That is not a personal insult of the sort Stan engages in routinely and gets away with.

Try? It's not hard to call a spade a spade. Now, you are not the only offender. There are plenty of CTE users that sling mud the other direction too. I try not to involve myself in that, but OTOH it isn't much fun trying to ignore all the slander and talk around it, pretend it doesn't exist.

Stan (and others) have dealt with years of insults, slander, jokes, you name it. Sometime it gets to be too much. He is probably doing the right thing for himself to leave forum for awhile instead of wading through the constant onslaught of provoking. Now even when a topic comes up that is seemingly innocent, it is often taken as hostile purely because of the history of conversations here. It kinda sucks for everyone.

Mohrt, can I ask you something ?

I know you are a student of the game and you are not here just to defend cte, pro one, Stan, etc...

Let's say you are playing a very slow roll. Could be with cb-ob distance at 4-5 diamonds or cb and ob close with your object ball having to travel more than 4 diamonds. You hit it so slow so that your ob only has enough speed to drop.

Now, when you miss that shot is it usually an undercut or an overcut ?

My game is where it's at. As I have a family with small children, I just don't have the time to commit to take my game to the upper level of semi-professionals and beyond. However, I think CTE does help me maintain and improve my game today. My town has a very active pool community with several thousand players in leagues. I compete at the highest level (what they call High Rollers) with the best players in the arena. I am on the VVS masters list. Top 100? I should think so. Top 10? No, I just don't have the time to commit to that level. Maybe one day when kids are out of the house. I hope that answers your question.

I couldn't say. When you hit them soft others factors come into play, especially the roll of the table. I don't think anything about CTE would make a shot favor one side or the other.

Because I bought them does not mean I use the systems they describe.

It will make much more sense once one actually takes it to the table and learns it.

Neil, they don't make sense to any pool player with a modicum of horse sense. Dan has given the system a fair shake -- fairer than most.

I did buy the first DVD and was sent the 2nd DVD gratis by someone who wanted me to review it. I passed on the 2nd because reviewing it would have been ruled "piling on." The DVD was total nonsense.

The hysterical, over-the-top response they constantly provide fits nicely with the word "cult." If they do not care for it they might try a more measured, logical approach.
