Starting Basement Pool Room

Amazing looking room, and nice work! The only thing I would personally change would be to put a black fridge in the place of the brown "paneling" one. I think it takes away from the wet bar. Just my .02

I eventually will get a glass door built in refridgerator. But theyre quite expensive. This was already in my possession so I just plugged it in for beer.

Hey man great work.

Have you considered painting the speaker grills the same color as the wall? They stick out like a sore thumb. Also, have you considered hanging a picture over the electrical panel flush cover?

Cheers..

"Q" Protectors...That is a SLAMMIN' job you did on your 'basement' pool room. What a great job!

Alright guys, I think this is probably my last post since I'm pretty much done at this point. So I got the wet bar installed recently and finished up all the trim. So this is what I did. I'm attaching a "Before" and "After" picture of the room. I'm off to enjoy the room now!

For all of those who have followed me along this project "thanks" and I hope you've enjoyed it and hope you maybe picked up an idea or two along the way!

I have considered painting them. Not sure yet if I will or not.
I also have put a piece of painted MDF over the electrical panel so it's pretty well blended in.

Thumbs Up

You have really done a beautiful job on that basement. Really great room with a great table. With a ball return..... nothing better. I have never seen a Gold Crown with out the built in score keepers in the rail. Did you replace that bottom rail with a upper one? Also, just my opinion but I think the speakers color (white) looks good against the wall. Breaks up the wall color. Again, beautiful room. Congrats with it.

No offense, but does it seem like those table lights are a little high? Great job though!

It did not have score keepers. There were 6-9ft GC's in the pool hall and none of them had them. There were beads above the tables. I wish it did have counters for 14.1. Oh well!
I kind of agree with the speakers. I kind of like them white.

They are a bit high. I'm 6'5" and I hit my head on them if there much lower. Good even spead of light. That's all I'm really worried about.

Outstanding job. Thanks for the extra effort of keeping us posted. You have made many observers very envious.

Love what you did with that room! Specifically the colors, wall color, hardwood floor, and lighting. Looks great! :D

As for the fridge, you mentioned a clear door fridge...you can find these relatively reasonably from soda distributors. Look into coke, Pepsi, etc clear door display fridge. Call your local soda distributors and ask about used clear door mini fridges. They might have used ones they a looking to get rid of or can steer you to a supplier for promo type fridges. The restaurant supply "display fridges" cost a fortune, so avoid those. You can also sometimes spot these clear door soda fridges on CL or your local buy and sell, look for bars and restaurants closing and clearing out.

Figured I throw an updated pic of my wet bar area since I completed it recently.

Got the mirror up and built some counter top shelves with LED's in them to light up the liquor bottles. Pretty cheap and simple.

I also got an actual built in fridge!
