Starting Basement Pool Room

Looks like I'm ready for Drywall!

Ran all my A/V cables around the room and finished up with all of the insulation. Hoping to have drywall going by the end of next week. Getting super excited!!

This is a new screenshot of what I have planned now. Things changed a little bit since I first started.
Sorry the little floating discs are the can lights and speakers, there just kinda in the way.

Attention to detail has really paid off, drywall looks good can's wait to see what's next. Keep up the good work! Just finished drywall myself, and beginning to paint now.

Another milestone crossed! Primed, painted, and got all the electrical in along with my inwall speakers.

Gold Crown IV all lined up and getting picked up this weekend. If all goes well I'll have a floor done and waiting for it.

Wow Nate, this is impressive! You did great on the color scheme. Your wiring looks great and the overall work looks really good. This ia gonna be a great room when completed!

First of a huge congrats to you! You're definitely another talented AZer here...
I've been following this thread religiously and have actually been excited for you as I see the entire project unfold.
I already love the setup now and can only imagine how fantastic it'll look when completed.
Some nice paintings and nice rugs would do wonders to this room...I'm looking forward...
Thanks for sharing.

I'm in the beginning stages of building a house. The basement is going to come unfinished. I've been following you, and others that have posted progressions of a pool room. I'll be starting with concrete walls that will have insulation. I've never done a task like this before, but with me being handy, I think I can do it. Thanks for the pictures. I'll eagerly be following this post to not only see how you're coming along, but to pick up any tips I can find.

Anyone have any good design ideas for the walls around the pool table area.

My concern is that people will put their feet up on the lower part of the wall when standing in front of the wall. For the upper part of the wall, my concern is people leaning their cue against the wall and having tons of chalk marks around the room.

I don't want to go too dark because it will make a small space look even smaller.

Thanks,

I like wood panels on walls, gives it a classic yet homely feel and they clean pretty good plus they're darker and won't show stains easy. You can check out my post in one of my earlier thread and see that one part of the Wall's using wood panels. I custom ordered these panels but I know many people are using wood parquet floor panels on walls these days too and they work great albeit with more joints. There's multitude of colour and wood choices plus that's faux wood as well which are all incredibly easy to look after.

Another alternative would be wallpaper. Again I would go with softer tones like beige to brown for that homely effect and easy on the eyes for large areas. Personally I'd pick those that's textured like basket weaved or rattan like designs. Alot of them clean easy and even allow wet cloth cleaning for maintenance.

Just my 2 cents.

Looks like a nice lay out so far. Just a hint tho. Close in the bath room or people will see you having a Pee.

Keep us posted on the progress. Us AZers like looking at pool room pics like these.

Looks great!
Just a little advice make sure you have a back up sump pump system. My 3 year old pump failed, flooded 8 inches! They removed all the flooring and the bottom foot of drywall, and dried the basement for week. Spent 15,000 just to get the back to pre flood condition.

I now have 3 sumps pumps and a battery back up system.
