There is OFFICIAL state championships. These are actually filed through the courts system I beleive. You might want to check with bar owners to see who actually owns the rights to "Arizona State Championship".
The guys running the Desert Classsic Tour might have more info than I would. Check with Jimmy M. or Dennis O. the tour organizers.

Official.... now that is a tough one. I don't believe there is such a thing. Most states I am familiar with have multiple entities who have official state events (BCAPL, ACS, VNEA, coin vendor associations, etc). If you want to list them all then you need to check with each association to see if they have a state tournament for a given state.

Should be very interesting. Good luck!!!

Holly, it is you running this operation. Wow, that's very, very cool! You've definitely got the experience and will be an asset to this whole operation. :)

That said, don't forget to add Washington, D.C., the forgotten land, in your tournament schedule. We're not a State! :(

Good luck with this new tournament schedule. I can't wait to read more about it!

Thanks for input

Thanks Everyone who has responded to this thread. And you're right JAM, DC should not be overlooked.

The qualifiers will not be associated with any league systems. The state tourny's I was l inquiring about are independent events...some states have annual organized events some do not. Some in only one cue sport discipline, others in another state.

Have a great weekend...and will have more updates next week.

Iowa

In Iowa we have two major state tournaments that are quite large but both are affiliated with leagues. The IOMA tournament which is connected with the VNEA (http://www.iowaoma.com/) and the ISPA (http://ispa.in2pool.com/). ISPA used to be a BCA league until they split into ACS and BCA when it became an independent league.

I would love to see a qualifier in Iowa, and with enough advanced exposure I'm sure you'd get a great turnout.

Hello Lady9ball,

I do see a qualifier in Iowa. I have been in contact with room owners and local tournament directors all over the country. The qualifier package that we are putting together will be completed and ready to send out early next week via email or fax to all I have spoken with.

One criteria that will need to be followed in regard to what rooms will be possible are: 9' tables strongly preferred / 8 or 8.5 tables will be considered in more remote areas if there is not adequate 9' table rooms available in a geographic area.

I am hoping to get dozens of qualifiers for the NCS 8-Ball National Championship set up in the next 2-4 weeks that will have dates scheduled into January.

Advanced notice is important and one area where we will tremendously support each qualifier program partner host room is through extensive PR and marketing.

Thanks and Great Shooting!
Holly

Post it here, too

I hope you'll be posting all the info here, too, so that rooms that may not have been contacted can be made aware.

Thank you! I hope that everything rolls your way! :)

Holly, why don't you let some of us AZer's help with the promotion. If you make a printable flyer for us to download and print, I'm sure there would be one in just about every pool room, bar, store cork board in the US. Johnnyt

Hi JohnnyT,

Thanks for the support. As we schedule qualifiers, we will have downloadable fliers available - to the host rooms and any, like your dear self, who would like to help promote the NCS.

We will be making announcements soon as locations, dates of qualifiers.

Thanks,

The CSI Website is up and we are adding content. We will have downloadable flyers and posters for NCS qualifiers. Additionally, we have a great calendar. Appreciate all the promotional help we can get. The azbilliards tours and tournament section has now added the NCS where folks can also see the schedule. so out of 32-33 qualifiers I have all total in the past three weeks scheduled just about half. Most are up on the calendar, there are a few that I need a bit of details still before they are released.
