Steinway Classic Brackets???

I wouldn't be surprised if Mika wins it all. He seems very comfortable at Steinway. He won the 14.1 there last month

2 on Winners side, 6 on losers side

Winners side final
Carlos Biado v Jayson Shaw

Losers side
Ruslan v Mika
Lee Van v Vilmos

Shane
Lil Ko

Even though any of them can win it, From here on, I think Jayson is favorite to win whole thing. Other favorites- Shane, Lil Ko, Ruslan

You can't count out Biado. When he is on, no one has to beat him.

I agree Johnny. He's on fire. Biggest surprise though, is Vilmos.

Carlos/Shaw matchup should be a great match.

Just curious why you would think Vilmos is the biggest surprise? He is more than capable of beating anyone at any given time

When was the last time he was in the final 8 of a Semi-Major event...?

He's a great player, but in this field, he is the biggest surprise(IMO)...

He beat Mika 9-1(who Knocked out Orcollo), and he sent the reigning world champ Ko Pin Yi home.

Granted, it's a short race, but he kicked it up a notch this week.

I like Biado. In fact, I would like Lil Ko or Biado to win this cos both have not won tourney of this size in US. Lil Ko won CSI event some years ago but that was invitational

I chose the other 4 chose they are the better breakers and in this conditions, the better breakers have the edge.
Of cos Biado or Lee Van or Vilmos or Mika may snap it off but that has to depend on other 4 napping or having a bad day :D

First up 1pm EST are losers side matches

Ruslan Chinakhov v Mika Immonen
Lee Van Corteza v Vilmos Foldes

after that 2nd session
Ko Ping Chung v Ruslan Chinakhov or Mika Immonen
Shane v Lee Van Corteza or Vilmos Foldes

Winners Side final Carlos Biado v Jayson Shaw is 3rd session of the day.
That will be good match cos it will be contrasting styles. :D

Just finished fourth in a North Carolina Tournamnet right before the US OPEN with a lot of top players. Has won the world Jr nine ball (granted, a while back) and has finished 3rd-4th in the world nine ball (also a while back). So the answer is he has not finished high in a semi major lately but definitely has the ability to compete with anyone at anytime.

When Vilmos gets an early lead in a match, he is one of the best players in the world in keeping his foot on the gas and getting to the finish line.

I agree, the guy is strong. But the difference from last week to this week is fairly large.

He kicked it up a notch is all I'm sayin.....

I agree he has kicked it up a notch. He has not done well in semi majors in the states recently but plays consistently in the Mezz West State Tour and plays absolutely world class.

Foldes defeats Corteza 9-7 and will play SVB next on stream

Mika defeats Chinakhov 9-6 and will play L'il Ko next

first push out by foldes says it all: he's too scared of svb's shot making, so he pushed into such a hard shot, got it back and scratched
