damn beat me to it :(

my rediculous picture posting title is in jeopardy of being usurped

Really, what do you expect from a guy who comes to a pool forum to ask what a girl who calls him at 3am wants??

DCP come up to Indy and I will play you some, every time you complain I will rub a habanero in your eye. I'm betting that after your first miss you wont complain again.

Now thats funny, I don't care what anybody says, that just funny.

Wait a second... What ever happened to those people that would defend DCP's right to post these "learning threads"? I quit posting in these threads because people would curse for voicing my displeasure of these threads. I think DCP has finally wore his welcome very thin with these threads.

You should post a video of you playing a rack. We can then try adn figure out if it is something mechanical you are doing wrong... however, I just think you are not cut out for this game.

how on earth would rolling a striped ball into a pocket (no cue ball, just rolling the striped ball into the pocket with your cue), or rolling striped balls up and down the table help keep me from missing shots???

I take this to mean you haven't been doing them!

DCP,

Your game is so bad, at this point if someone told you to play with a pink buttplug up your bum, you should do it.

The person who told that to you is respected and knows what he is talking about.

Dude,
When that room is finished that you are having built spend every spare minute that you have or all of your time if you are not working training by using a structured set of drills. Record your progress through the program and then concentrate on what you suck at. You should also find a bca instructor or mentor to help you with technique. STOP WASTING YOUR TIME TRYING TO RUN BALLS. Master one skill at a time and the runs will come. Additionally if you have to run balls play straight pool exclusively.

Another poster had a great idea. Please, please, please make a video of you playing so we can see your mechanics. Post it on youtube and them pm me and I will watch it and give you feedback. I'm sure other posters will do the same.

Finally if the game is starting to effect your happiness you need to quit. If pool ever becomes a grind for me I will quit too.

Regards,
Marcus

I don't understand you, its not like you are asking us how to play the shot because you know how already. You are showing us that you missed it and what? You think we never missed that shot in our progress? heck I could miss those in a pressure situation, I know I had worse happened to me but I certainly won't come here to whine that I missed shots. I know I made a thread the other day because my playing is not up to par these days but I was asking for ADVICES to get over it. Because if I would have made a thread just saying 'I play bad these days, do something!!!' nobody would care because we all have that problem.

You don't need us to tell you that you need to aim fuller because you obviously know that you aimed thinner....so adjust and keep on living.

Im going to give you the power to dominate with this suggestion. Use the lights. the reflections of the overhead lights will give you a visual cue. This will aid in you developing your EYE. Like anything else, it going to take time, but your not the only player in the world that has trouble targeting, this imho is the quickest way to develop the skills nessasary to play consistant.

SPINDOKTOR

If you're going to tell him to use the reflections, you might as well tell him everything about them.... how they help you make just about every shot on the table, and help you bank balls like you have a cheat-code in an Playstation game.

Just kidding, Doktor. If you did educate him, he'd post more threads about how he keeps missing... and if you're not bald, you would be after that.

DCP,

This is your problem, you take lessons from instructors and then don't see the value that they provide and dismiss them. I am sorry, but you are unbelievable.

You posted here a few years ago about taking lessons from Mark Wilson. One of the most prestigious instructors out there. A Pro at one time and someone that the Pros go to for advice. However, you said that you were not comfortable with what he taught you so You decided to dismiss it.

Now you take a lesson from Scott Lee, who many people on this forum respect greatly and will vouch for as an extremely good instructor, perhaps great, and you do the same thing.

My advice to you, not that you asked for it or will listen to it, is to take a solid year and practice what these instructors taught you. If you don't improve within a year then go ahead and come here and say it didn't work. However, you coming here 1 month (or less) after the lesson saying it doesn't work makes no sense to any of us.

I try never to get on here and blast someone, but I can't help with you.

If you don't know why... then that's the CORE of your problem. You think you know things...and you really know ZERO. The sooner you wake up and look at yourself in the mirror and realize, "Ya know.... I really know sh*t about this game," the sooner you will get better. The sooner you start listening to Scott (someone who literally forgot more about pool than you'll ever learn in your life), the sooner you'll stop missing stupid shots.

USE A PROFESSIONL AIMING SYSTEM AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.

What Particular Professional Aiming System Are You Using?

I'm guessing it's the little known "Pin the tail on the donkey" system. Definitely something involving a blindfold. And mittens.

Seriously, DCP. If you're missing those kind of shots I think you should give up & try something else, as long as it's not darts.
