Still need a stick....

The hunt is over, y'all.

I found the right cue for me...from a great guy who has been very helpful and patient while I sorted things out and weighed my options.

Thanks to all who helped along the way, offered support when the village idiots raised up in misguided revolt, and to those who made wonderful offers on some great player's cues.

Kickin' Chicken - PM sent (and text msg, too). Let's seal this up, sir!!

Great choice all the way around. Please let us know how it plays for you.

Mark is deffinatly one of the best of the best !

Glad to see you around for sure.. And most importantly UP RIGHT!

Chris

Mark,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do business with you.
Your deals have always been more than fair, and the cues
always described perfectly..

Your one of the good guys!!

Dale

Mark,
Glad you found what you needed...now I hope that you find some time to play with it.

As for those who questioned Mark's character, f-off. Mark is one of the true "good guys" on the forums. His work sometimes interferes with his pool, but that is the way it is.

I have had the pleasure of racking a few racks with Mark over the years, and have done several deals with him. He is one of a very few to whom I would ship several cues, let him choose what he wanted, and pay me later. I have absolute trust in him, as an AZB member, and as a friend.

If any of you felt that he did not respond fast enough for you, then that is too bad. Mark is a fine person. His word is good as gold.

character

No one questioned any character but he showed some character: His Quote:

"Your opinion is valued at slightly less than dog s#!t on a paper plate, jackass.

I posted in a "Wanted/For Sale" thread because I WANT to buy a cue. I would say that my post is EXACTLY where it belongs.

Did I make mention of wanting a $1500 dollar cue for $600? No. I did not. (but for those inclined to make such an offer - I'll get back to you).

I've had two cues in my hands in the last two weeks, because I'm looking for a player, and pulled the trigger on each one. One did not 'feel' right when I hit with it, and the seller was kind enough to offer me the chance to try it out, just to be safe. It wasn't for me, so I shipped it back to him. The seller completely understood, and took the cue back without a second thought. The second cue had issues with delivery and receipt, and the seller and I reversed the deal.

So I'm back on the hunt, looking for a cue. In a place where people go to look for a cue. See....that's the purpose of a WANTED thread. I WANT a cue, and WANT to buy a cue. So I go to the forum where people post that they WANT a cue. You kinda see how this works, now?

Take your bullshit drama elsewhere. I did not post a thread asking for your interpretation of my intentions....so shove it sideways, and go elsewhere."

You're right. Mark should have said "dog shit on fine bone china plate....".

Not for nuthin', but you got off easy.

You came on to my WANTED/FOR SALE thread, vomiting short-sighted, uneducated stupidity. I replied in the same manner I deal with all willfully ignorant people.

But in the spirit of the holidays, I kept it light.

Keep it up, and I'll start addressing your one-branch family tree.

Pm

A PM I got:
"got a pm from one of the guys that sold mark a cue . The mail man delivered the cue , left it on front porch . Mark said he never got it. It stayed there over night . When mark said he got the cue he returned the cue refusing to accept it because it was left out over night . Never even opened the package . Nice guy , HUH "
Probably buyers remorse.

Wake up AZers He is just fishing to take advantage of a sucker. Why keep thinking you can sell him a cue at an honest deal and waste time bumping the add with pictures. The right cue is one he can make money with.

Your comments ring a little hollow with me. Whenever I have listed nice items
for sale at fair prices you are always the first one to send me a pm with a lowball offer.

I think your comment should say " why should this guy be able to publicly solicit
a deal when I have to constantly send out lowball pms to try and get one "

over and out

They say: " Birds of a feather flock together." I know none of you guys. Probably nice persons. I just don't agree with this type of phoney posts. My opinion: If you want a cue check the for sale posts for what you want. There are many cues for sale. Or put a wanted post out for a specific cue you are looking for. I think AZers should stop hogging the posts with their birds. It is obvious what is going on here with the bumps:
Nice cue, If I had the money I would buy it, Hi ---, Good luck with your sale, on and on.
It is getting old.

Saving this for a response, after I finish my DQ Blizzard.

I just sold Marc a cue that delivery people messed something up but mark was a perfect gentleman about it. He returned the cue I returned the cash and everybody was happy we even left each other positive feedback.

Done. Damn, that was good. Reese's cups blizzards are fookin' awesome.

Okay, window-licker - pay attention:

1. I've been on this forum since 2005, and have done deals with more people than I can even begin to count. I've treated them all the same - with respect. The ONE exception to that rule was a guy who sold me a cue that he claimed was perfect...but when received, it looked like he pulled it out of a wood chipper and boxed it up, and I railed him for it, publicly. Not because it was a deal that I wasn't happy with...but because he turned out to be a lying ass with no sense of integrity.

2. Your opinion is still worthless. Reference my previous comment about the paper plate (although Scott is right - fine bone china is mighty classy)

3. Since you're so quick to reference a story you heard from a guy about a guy...let me key you in on all the things you DON'T know (and that list is long...in more ways than one).

a. I found a cue on AZB that I wanted to buy. I made the seller a very reasonable offer. He agreed to that offer. I paid him, in the manner he requested. The world was at peace.

b. He shipped the cue to me. It was VERY under-insured. For only $50 bucks, to be exact. The cue was $400, plus fees. He had no problems doing this before, and didn't think it would be a problem. I didn't much care, really...although I would not have shipped anything without full insurance. To each, their own.

c. On the day of alleged delivery, USPS had the cue marked as 'delivered' on their site. This was wrong. My wife was home all day, and nobody ever showed up. When I got home, I checked every spot around my house where a tube could be sitting. There was no tube. I let the seller know, and the hunt began.

d. The next day, we both call USPS. We ask for resolution. By X-mas miracle, the tube was sitting at my glass front door by 11am. The very spot a had checked SEVERAL times, the day before.

e. The shipping tube had been crushed. Was shaped like a football, with tears in the cardboard in several spots. The tape had been undone on one end. The plastic cap had been busted on the other end. I took photos of all this, for my records as proof that the tube got jacked up.

f. I take the cue out, and inspect it. The shafts were perfectly fine. The buttsection had a lift at the A-joint. Not major...but there. As the seller sold me a 'straight' cue, I can only assume that it was possible that the cue developed a minor bend while sitting at some unknown location outside...overnight...in 20-something degree weather.

g. I contact the seller immediately, and inform him of the problems. I tell him that, given the totality of the circumstances, I do not want the cue. Too much potential risk. I request a refund. He agrees.

h. I ship the cue back...wrapped well, and in a brand new tube I bought, myself. I insured it for the full purchase price I paid.

I. Seller receives the cue today.

j. Seller refunded my money today.

k. Seller and I exchange positive feedback, since we handled things politely and professionally.

l. As impossible as this may be for you to comprehend...there are TONS of guys on here with items they're willing to sell, but they're not inclined to post them up as such. Sometimes you just don't know what's REALLY out there until you advertise that you're looking for something specific. Earth-shattering news, I know...but just like Santa, it's REAL!!!!

Any questions, moron? How many points would you like to argue about, and opine that my way was not the right way to deal with things? You seem to have this idea in your head of how AZB should go, and how everyone should conduct their business....so feel free to educate me.

You know...now that you actually KNOW something about a transaction I've had on here. There are EASILY a hundred more you don't know the first thing about.

I don't give two craps and a damn about your 'vision' for AZB. You spout off B.S. (not Barry Szamboti, just to be clear) about things you know little to nothing about, and you picked the WRONG cat to take swipes at.

And the way this deal went down, and how we handled it between the two of us, is the EXACT reason why I would not hesitate to work another deal with you in the future, sir. I look forward to it, in fact.

You were stand-up, all the way...and it's appreciated.

I think its time to just let it go. You as a buyer did everything a buyer looking for a cue can be expected to do. It is your money buying a cue for YOU.
No doubt you have the support of a lot of members on this forum to conduct the business of obtaining the cue of your choosing.
Let it go and enjoy that new cue!

Mark, before you make a decision I've uploaded a photo of this closet queen for your perusal. She meets all of your specs, "hits a ton", and the best part is the price. I'll let her go for $365 shipped. Budweiser is not only the king of beers, but also the king of cues!

This is a WANTED / Forsale section. He WANTS a cue for 600. This marks multiple times you wanted to be Paul Blart, Mall cop. I would much rather see someone say "Hey, I want a Gus Szamboti for 2000" than have someone offer me 2000 on a 8000 dollar cue. At least this way I can choose to SKIP over the post.

Regardless of the cue he wants, he put his budget and specs out there, so let it go. He is well within the rules, YOU however knocked his post, that is actually the no-no here.
JV (---should have Skipped this one.....

The reason that they post their reply on here is to post their for sale offering for everyone (not just the OP), so that if the OP is not interested in what they have to offer, then someone else can send them a PM to ask if the item is still available for sale. If they just wanted to make the offering to the OP, then they would have just sent the OP a PM, but that is not the case, and they want everyone (that might be interested in a cue for under $600) to see what they have available for sale.

Do you actually think you have a better way to run this forum? Go start your own. Many people on here have had many, many deals. We know the good guys from the bad guys. We meet at shows. So on and so forth.

Like I said before, report this to the mods or just get the fvck out of his thread.:slap:
