Harold Worst had a shoe store. Played as good as anyone in the world, not just the usa.

I overheard frankie hernandez say hes a NYC garbageman. with overtime they can make 100K a year. to pick up other people shit, literally. not bad

If nobody wants to mention it, I will.

:-) I think that "good" players are wanted.

That said I heard Scooter makes a good living outside pool liberating car wash owners of the burden of dealing with all those heavy quarters. :-)

As a former car wash owner I know I would have been pleased to see all those quarters gone.

Brooklyn Jimmie did well in the jewelry biz.....
...and probably anything else he tried.

Terry Romine had the Midas touch....and he could play pretty good.

The title said 'player'...you don't have to be able to give Johnny Archer the 7
to be a player. If you can't get through a day without thinking about billiards...
...you're a player. I know people in many walks of life who think of themselves
as players....I gave a 3-cuhion cue to a minister once because he really
liked the game. Any time he quizzes me, it's about a 3-c situation.....
....we got God on our side.

How about some upbeat stories of top tier American players that got out of pool rat race or just do it part time and are successful at doing something else. When I say successful I mean make a decent living (50K or more) W/O counting any pool money they still make, like CJ, the APA guys. JT

Boston Shorty told my wife he drove a cab. Can't attest to it though.

Terry Bell and Larry Hubbard? Although they made their money with a pool business it wasn't from their playing.

If we are going to include players of my speed there is probably 100 million in earnings from outside pool businesses from members of AZB alone.

That would be a good if the cost of living in New York wasn't ridiculous

"Fats" probably made 10 times the money off the table with his mouth. Take away all the kings he beat and it would be 100 times more off the table LOL. JT

Jeanette Lee made millions more off the table. JT

do i really need to state the obvious?

SHE, must have SOMETHING(S), that most OTHERS don't, to be SUCCESSFUL, in pool, and life.

(she knows how to "work it" & not "blow it")
