Stream is down on Strickland/Archer match!

was gonna order it just for the straight pool. But after seeing the free stream earlier forget that. Shoulda had TAR or bigtruck do it,
.

bad business practice

I had my credit card out ready to buy the stream but fortunately had enough trouble with entering pay pal to see the other reviews and decided to hold off. After seeing Mike's comments in chat ("well, it's working fine for me". "the problem is with ustream". "We aren't making any money on this".), I decided it was a good decision. :cool:It makes me appreciate TAR that much more. ;)

Really glad I didn't buy this. I agree with Chris, situations like this really allow you to see how great Justin really is. He does everything he can to make sure all of the people who purchase the stream are happy. He very often gives people refunds even when they probably aren't warranted. TAR's customer service is second to none. I hope TvMike made enough on this to retire, because with his level of care and customer service, it looks like he won't be getting any more action around here.

Well said..

I saw in the chat also that he said "I"m 15k stuck, I'm not going to make a dime"

Rather than beat the guy down, lets all remember back to other people who did their first big stream and had issues and bounced back. Let's put our support into this.

If it ends up being a poor attitude on the part of the streamer, that's a different story as I haven't ever seen Ray or Justin's attitude be bad.

For closers, if you were stuck a fraction of what this guy is stuck on this, you'd be sick too. Think not? Look at people in CAPS demanding a refund of $25 He's stuck, probably doesn't have a ton of money and expected to make more, he's also probably a tad bitter because of that, try to help, or does everyone want to lose another person to pool. He will figure out what happened and if he wants to continue, make it right in the future.

So you were going to buy it, but based on someones comments on here it kept you from buying it.

By the logic of some people on here TvMike could sue the person with the bad comments for costing him countless sales. (I'm kidding, but don't think that there aren't people out there on the forum who seem to like the route of calling out someone in public before trying to work it out, and then stiffing them on some money before allowing for a solution.

I was going to buy the stream, but once I saw the comments on here, I decided against it

How many different times and in how many different threads are you doing to complain about your $25?

Who TF are you?! Mike's brother-in-law? You don't know what TF you are talking about! I started one thread (1-in case you can't read) about getting a refund.

His lack of consideration and professionalism make it hard to feel sorry for him. Granted, many men don't know the first thing about being a man. I guarantee you though ignoring a situation in which you take people's money, do not provide the expected service in return and have your name all over this product is not acceptable behavior.

People on this forum are intelligent (mostly) and can understand when something doesn't go according to plan, but not addressing the situation, showing a lack of empathy, and attempting to brush it under the rug is not something neither a man nor a person with integrity and maturity do.

He basically added insult to injury by not addressing the situation.

Thanks for your .02 but you can keep it.

compromise...

If I had paid for the pay per view, I would have done so knowing that the stream messed up last time. I would also realize that the guy putting the stream on is not evil and did not intend bad consequences. I would also realize that having to refund everyone would possibly cost us the possibility of more streams in the future, which we would all like to see done. So here is a compromise. Everyone who paid gets the dvd free OR a free stream next time. The dvd is probably going to be made anyway so after they get made the cost per dvd is negligible which keeps a good promoter from going upside down on an enterprise meant to help our sport. Please don't attack me, it's just a suggestion.

A great suggestion. Well done.

This is a very good suggestion. A reasonable compromise. If this was initially suggested by Mike or anyone having anything to do with the stream I don't think there would have been an issue.

It was the lack of acknowledgement and avoidance of the situation that turned out to be even more frustrating than the messed up stream.
Just make an attempt to do right by the people who paid their hard earned money and lost a Saturday afternoon.

Please post and repass or share it on facebook accordingly, a lot of people are upset and I would like to address some of these issues even before we have a "business" meeting about it.

Ustream Crew,

Actually this is blizzard of a shit storm to be frank with you guys. I understand that issues can occur but I have a slew and a ton of people who are demanding refunds and who are ravaging my name as a live stream producer. Raking and raping my name through the coals as we speak. I appreciate the compliments on my stream, show, quality especially coming from ustream itself that is an immense compliment. As you can see I REALLY know what I'm doing unfortunately it doesn't matter I might be the best in the country if people can't watch what they paid for essentially all that means absolutely NOTHING. Because they are not getting to see the match as they have been promised to watch.

I seriously would like Ustream to FORMALLY apologize to everyone who bought a PPV through an email sent to those customers. I would like a post by someone from Ustream to this forum. Below... I would like something reasonable sent to me that I can pass on to my viewers as well in a comprehensive explanation how the error with the PPV was solely on your back end. If you take a look at this thread you will understand how BAD this really is. I have people coming after me personally, financially etc when this technical outage and issue has nothing to do with my production and financially has nothing to do with me. Actually I've lost money on my end in hopes to delivering a superior product to everyone to boost my reputation

There is going to be a business meeting amongst the investor, the manager, myself and players and other persons involved on what we do with this. The very least I am to guess that they will request this PPV to be at no charge and then a similar event at a later date to be free as well. The amount of the first streams reputation on this franchise of challenge matches we have planned is severely damaged and majorly financially impacted future in ways we would of have no way of knowing at this point. Please take time to view this forum and collectively come to some conclusion at how you can help me let my viewers know how it can be justified or thoroughly explained so that *I* don't get the heat on my channel, my production or the other events we may produce.

Thank you for your serious consideration in this matter and remedy.

I was thinking along the same lines yesterday until Mike said the couldn't refund people, that he didn't even know who bought the ppv. Since the ppv went through ustream, it is possible that he is telling the truth which means they have no way of knowing who to give the consolation prizes to.
