Strickland VS. McCReady 4/88

Keith, I came acrossed what seems to be a pretty rare tape of you playing a race to 11 against Earl the tape is dated April of 1988.

I added some pics of the video below..

I have to say one of the best tapes i have ever watched quality has a little to be desired but looks good. You guys go Hill Hill and earl wins. You guys must be playing in a bar because your having a beer and smoking during the match. Your stroke looks great in the video at one point your down maybe 4-5 rack and just start stringing them together.

Does anyone else own this video, I kind of want to know how rare it is. I called accu states and they dont even own it anymore. So as far as i know it cant be bought.

Stolz2: The VHS Tape you have is one of the first Accu-Stat Videos that my friend Pat Fleming made in the late 80's. My name is Joe Kerr and I was was the tournament director at the event. It is a tape between Earl & Keith and it was at the 1988 Ohio State Open filmed at Starcher's Billiards in Akron, Ohio. (I sent you a private email stating that it was the Akron Open, however, after noticing the April date in '88, it was the Ohio State Open. The Akron Open was held in October each year and the Ohio State Open was held in the Spring of each year.) At the time I was also the Executive Director/Secretary Director of the MPBA. I also promoted and/or directed over 125 professional events throughout the 1980's and early 1990's, many of them on ESPN or Prime Network. Hope this information helps out in your quest to identify your tape. Best regards, Joe Kerr - Akron, Ohio.

Are you THE Joe Kerr of Ohio who hosted those wonderful tournaments in the '80s? I have read quite a bit about these events in older pool periodicals. Jose Parica, I think, won one of those. :)

I had thought the video was of a tournament in Richmond, Kentucky, but I'm sure you must recognize the background in the pics! Earl still looks about the same today, 18 years later, at 43 years of age (I think), but Keith was quite thin in that picture. When I met Keith, he wore a size 31-32 pants, and today his waist line has expanded several inches, surpassing the length. :o

I'd like to get me a copy of that DVD and/or video! :D

The picture looks sort of like the Akron tournament to me, and it brings back good memories. I always shared a few good laughs with Joe Kerr. He was a real trooper and loved pool.

Me and Earl back in the mid '80s, it seemed like we always faced each other. He was a real thorn in my ass back then and always real hard to beat. If you didn't run at least 4 to 5 racks on him back then, you had no chance.

I have a copy in my sent PM box from a week ago. I re-shipped it, if you recieve both if you could send one back it would be nice. Let me know when you get it. Sorry for the delay. This happend to someone else also. And my PM box has room so im not sure when you sent your last message, but I have nothing in there from you just from 2-12.
