Hello,

here is my story - just wanted to vent and to make other members aware...

first off this is not a "retailer/store/seller" problem it is obviously a manufacturer issue...

purchased a stroke case, yesterday; I am talking less then 24 hours ago... butterfly, hand tooled leather 3x8 $400 retail...

headed to the pool room, so I loaded it up w/ 3 cues and 5 shafts and a few accessories....

picked it up from my table and it got really light, cause all I was holding was the top handle!!! while the case stayed on the table, it never got airborne!!! handle just fell completely off!!!

I did not jerk the handle, just simply; picked it up!!!

this is a $400 retail case???

has this happened to anyone else?

not going to ask for a warranty repair, will just get my $$$ refunded... Update retailer gladly refunded the funds, even offered to have repaired by a local luggage repair shop??? I asked, why not send it to Stroke for repair? Their reply was, "we can get it done better locally"...

I know, I know... I should have bought a Murnack, Justice, OnQ or similar...

I was worried that Jose Canseco was going to mention me in his book...

Layoff those performance enhancers GP... Don't you know about the long term affects? :D

Ron,
You were not supposed to carry any cue with an over 19 total ounce weight...and no shafts at 4 ounces or greater. That is way outside the specs for the case......

Stroke or Instroke? Whom did you purchase it from, and what are they offering to do for you?

Also may I ask as you did not say was the Case Brand NEW?

I have an Instroke case very similar to that, but it is solid as a rock. It is brown leather with lizard skin.

I'm not too surprised that it happened... strange place for a strap... structurally speaking. That sux!

Did you look closely for a "Do not use strap to lift cue case when filled with cues and equipment" type of warning on the strap itself?... j/k brother.

case is brand new...

The "Stroke" case is brand new, I purchased from local vendor, refund should not be a problem... but it is what I wanted and it apparently does not stack-up quality wise...

Oh-oh

I have a feeling that we are about to find out how well they stand behind a highly touted product.

decorative handle...

I thought the same thing about the strap, but they put it there, so I used it... btw, I am a "Montecristo" fan, cant get the show here locally... they dropped it from the line-up...

They should never put that "handle" for lack of a better word on these style cases. Mine is long gone from my Instroke Butterfly.

Porper does the same thing/handle with their VIP Butterfly Cases.

Mighty putty

I think you should make a mighty putty case..Sorry had 2 say that, that sucks and I had an issue with a vincetorre case the I but also. Not as bad as yours though the bottom of my case buckled a bit so the case does stand straight, more like the tower in Italy. :D

well i'm glad i'm going with a swift case. thanks for the heads up. great looking case btw

Who makes these things???

Good that retailer gives a refund. Did the retailer manufacture this?

That strap is not for a 3 cue case! It begs the question: What in the hell were those people thinking?
