Suggestion for house cues for home table?

Found a nice deal on an oversized 8' Olhausen table for the house.
My wife and I have our cues but the cues that came with the table are warped pretty bad and need to get some house cues for friends when they come over - most are bangers with a few who play more than others.

Looking for decent house cues but also looking to same as much $ as possible. For some reason I'm leaning towards the Cuetec one piece house cues for longevity. I know most real players here on AZ frown on Cuetec but keep in mind this if just for house cues.

Thoughts on the following?
Experience with the F57 Fiberglass from Mueller? Is it a copy of Cuetec with a wood core?
How are the Mueller traditional wood cues? Any problem with warpage?

I have found that house cues are only good to use with a bridge.

Why?

Anyone that comes to my house and doesn't have their own cue is not a serious player. I learned the hard way that if someone wants to learn let them learn somewhere else. Especially the kids of friends that just look at the table as a novelty to just bang balls around and then try to do tricks shots.

For you own family get them a fairly cheap sneaky.

I have several Players one piece cues, I like them a lot. Plus, they do a different color for each weight, so easy to tell which is which. 18oz has a green stain, 19oz has a black stain, and I forget the 17 and 20 colors...

Also, another great option is to buy the set of 4 house cues from McDermott, the set has 18-21oz.

Dufferin house cues are the best you can buy for the money.

For holding up in a bar I'd say you are right. But, have you played with the McD one piece house cues? They aren't what I'd think of as bar worthy, but for home use I think they play much better than a Dufferin... Also have a much better taper IMHO... Of course, McD is no longer making them, so you have to buy existing stock... They are now using their Lucky brand for their one piece house cues.

I agree that taper of the Dufferin's are more conical than the McD's, but as someone noted above, a serious player would bring their own cue anyway. You want something that is going to last and won't warp. In the pool hall I co-managed in Canada, back in the 90's, we had 50 tables and over 250 defferin house cues that I had to maintain. Less than 5% warped over the 5years I worked there.

Everyone might not have their cue with them at all times. I've had times where players have ended up at my house not knowing they were going to and were very happy I had cues available that had a decent taper, decent tip, etc. You never know when you might need one :)

You can get a nice, good sneaky pete from pooltables.com for a good price. We use them at the office and they have been nothing but good for us.

These are great cues. Ivorine ferrule and a LePro tip. You can not beat it for the money. I own a couple of them and they play great.

I bought a couple of the cuetec one piece house cues, and for 23 bucks they work pretty decent. Not much to look at, but for bangers they will get the job done.

I agree with the Schmelke cues. I've used Valley's, Duffs and Action, ect, ect, ect. The Scmelke's were just the best of the lot. The Valley's were not too bad. I think they are just rebadged Schmelke's. Just my humble opinion.

One factor is where in the house is the table and where will the cues be stored? On a wall rack by the table? Which is in the basement?

If my room experienced large temperature swings and/or humidty i would consider a more warp resistant cue. Also if you do a wall rack try not to mount on an outside wall due to temperature difference on either side of wall, can cause warping.

Heck, I end up using my own house cues whenever anyone comes over. I'm not a competitive player, but I'm pretty much going to beat anyone that doesn't take the game seriously, which includes all of my friends and anyone who is likely to be at our house for a party.

Anyway, I got so tired of everyone either A) claiming that I shoot so well because I have a "good" cue, or B) wanting to shoot with it, that I just leave it in the case and beat everyone with one of my house cues.

For what it's worth, the decal Players that came with my table are not bad at all. Good taper and decent tip.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm still looking to 'poor boy' as much as possible but also looking for descent house guys both in form & function.
As previously mentioned I'll have friends over that aren't tourney players but aren't exactly bangers either.
Cues to be stored on a wall rack in an interior room.

What are the Decal Players series cues?
Cheapest I can find for Players is this:
http://www.poolcueguru.com/product/players-classic-pool-cue-c802/

Is a cheap 2-piece cue like this less likely to warp than a traditional one piece house cue?

EDIT:
If I go with something like the above Players in the link I'd probably go with just three cues for now (different weight for each color).
What weights would you suggest for three?
Sacrifice the 18 or 21?

Thanks,
SA

Could there be any more truth in that statement?
