Super Billiards Expo 2007... Who's going?

Wow!!!!! Didn't know you could rent a table at the expo.........and for CHEAP!! That sounds like a good route to go.......and that leaves you some more action money, seymore!!

Yeah, too bad I couldn't get some help with the fortune I'm paying for my room and then to feed my gf and I...:p

I'll probably end up buying something rather than playing much, anyway. And I will probably be one of the first ones signing up for the 2nd Chance Scramble!

Ok, cool. That's the one thing that really bugs me about pool. I love to play and I love to play cheap sets even more, but then it's always the same story...play this one for $100? My response is simple...no thanks. What is with these egos?! I like $10 sets, it covers table time, it doesn't break the bank, and most of all: it doesn't cause trouble.

So what's the layout of the convention center?
The most I have ever played for was a a few races to 5 for 20 bucks. I like 10 dollar sets, it's more my route. That, or some keely or 3 ball or ring games. That stuff is just too much fun to me.

Along the lines of renting a table, It's after the tournaments are over for the day, you can rent the table for the night. I beleive the expo is open almost all night because I heard stories of the action table going into the wee hours.

I beleive you can find a layout at wwwwsuperbilliardsexpo.com. I am getting there bright and early on Thursday and will be there until Sunday. We reserved our room at the radisson a few months back. We stayed up the raod a bit last year and driving back and forth was just a big pain in the ass.

I will be there. I will have a booth as well right next to the pit. It'll be called the, www.i'm-the-guy-from-AZBilliards-whose-ass-you-want-to-kick.com
The website is still in progress.

Stop by and b*tch-slap me if you want.

I'll take your word for it, I don't drink. I just remember JAM complaining about Keith not being able to get his Buds inside the convention center. Maybe they changed things sometime along the way.

I can't imagine ME complaining about there being no Budweisers at any event I attend. Rather, I would welcome it. :D

However, just to set the record straight, at one time, there was no Budweiser at the SBE. I heard it through the grapevine that the Budweiser folks were difficult to negotiate with, and as such, the Bud drinkers had to drink the Yingling or whatever it's called and/or Coors when attending the SBE.

Last year, the SBE organizers must have negotiated successfully with the Budweiser people because, in fact, there were Budweisers available for the Bud lovers.

I remember that one year when I went to the SBE, a large coffee cost more than one bottle of beer.

I don't think you really can. They have coin ops there, but they are almost always tied up with gambling.

EDIT: I take that back (you know old age and memory thing). After the expo closes you can rent some of the tables used for the tournaments (they're all Diamond bar tables), but it can be a significant wait sometimes because once somebody is in there they can stay 'til they drop.

Maybe "mentioned" would be a more appropriate word for me to use. :)

... and not the greatest coffee you've ever had at that.

The complaining party is the one pictured below. :D

Ah, well.....off to the pool rooms I go, then.

Not a huge fan of bar tables......I'm a 9-footer guy, personally.

I'm sure the poolhalls around the area will have something more my style........I hope.

Same here, I hate little tables. Are there any halls around nearby? And I was figuring that there would be 9-footers there, am I wrong?

It only says Diamond Smart Tables, which could be 7, 8, or 9-footers... It does say that the Pro event is on bar tables, though.

Yeah...I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure there HAS to be a pool room in the area with some 9-footers. Looks like I have some homework to do this week.........

Maybe I'll see ya there......

Pro Event is on 9 ft. tables. Pro-Am event is on 7 ft. Smart Tables.
Action Pit is 7 ft. Smart Tables. All amateur events are on 7 ft. Smart Tables.

IMO the 7 ft. Smart Table is the best bar table made. But like most of you I would much rather play on 9 ft. tables.

Markley Billiards is close by and usually run midnight 9-ball tourneys--no handicaps -- all on 9 ft. tables.

I hope I get to meet some of you when I'm there!

There are two rooms within 15 minutes of the venue. Markley billiards in Norristown and Rack M Up in Frazer. Haven't been to Markley in over ten years, but Rack M Up has some nice Gold Crowns.

Oh jeez, this is going to really disappoint me. Then again, on the plus side, I won't be missing much on a little table... I don't know what to expect, I play on 9-footers 90% of the time and I play on 8-footers from time to time... I *NEVER* play on 7-footers, so I don't know what to expect... I typically shoot stronger on an 8 than a 9...but a 7?

They shouldn't even make 7-foot tables.

Tiger Will Be There!

We'll be there with bells on! Booths 114-116.

I am still debating playing in the Pro Event.

.
The wait for the $10 tables is generally only a few people deep when the room is full. I generally don't make it down to play untill 1 - 2am and I have not had to wait more than 10 min. to get a table. As far as other rooms in the area I don't know but I did hear alot of talk about planet 9 ball. I don't know if that is anywhere near there or not though. Chris.

There are rooms around. Some a shorter drive, some a longer drive. There are generally late night tournaments every night, but they fill up quickly. I believe Mika has a planet 9-ball nearby. There will be fliers around about the tournaments. I'm sure somebody will remember the locations and names, I can't.
