Super Billiards Expo thread

What about the action??? Anyone get in on some good stuff??? Make a pile on the side?? Any bigtime match ups???? Come on spill it??? :D

Yeah there was plenty of action...10-100 a rack 9 ball (plus
some 8 ball and 10 ball) on about 8-10 bar boxes on the side
all day. Made a few bucks on those tables, but it was hard
to get going...you'd rarely see anyone put more than 2-3
racks together. By Saturday there were so many people playing
the 10-100/rack tables that they had to have signup sheets
...that had lists of up to 15-20 people. Sucks when you
lose and have to sit down for 30 minutes :( Lotta sweating
people were taking the racker blind...it was a blast.
There were some bigger games going on...saw one with 2
undisclosed doods playing 8 or 10 ahead for 5 dimes.

John Morro matched up with a kid I've never seen before. I
heard they played 2 sets...only saw the second one...Morro
lost...think it was for a dime.

Does anyone know who Bowman played? I saw him banging around
some balls complaining...but missed the match (if there was
one).

Even Santos got in on the barbox action...saw him playing
the kid that Morro played...beat him a few games.

Other than that, there was plenty of action going on in the
tourney room (they opened it up afterhours). Lotta shortstop
types matching up in there.

I ended up a few bucks playing the 10-20 rack tables and
down a few bucks from playing sets in the tourney room. There
were tons of good players and action for everyone.

I dropped by the AZB meet and greet and only about 10 people
showed up. I guess all the other AZB'ers were taking it down
in the action room (right??) hehe. It was still fun though,
had a couple of drinks, enjoyed some pretty good food and
chilled out...it was a nice break from all the pool.

I concur with the statement about JR's parties!!!!!! Wow!!! Timberly- did I meet you??

Not sure Landshark.... I've got a few business cards that I can't for the life of me put a face to. I met quite a few new people this yr but as always the case at JR & Sally's shindigs, I tend to over indulge myself. I spent most of Fri & Sat over by the open window. I've got long dark hair... one day it was down, the next day I wore a baseball hat. I can tell you that I am not the really, really, really drunk girl that was there on Fri. While I did over indulge, I conducted myself ok with the exception of one or two kisses I planted on Joey K's cheek Sat night... he's just so damn cute I couldn't resist. When I get home I'll post a pic.

No, no, Timberly. I know that YOU would never drink any alcoholic beverages. And I hope that you took it easy on Janis if you got him involved. I thought he got broken from sucking eggs when he was in Athens :D . Right, Mj?

I'll see you somewhere soon, I'm sure.

Mike

Actually, Mr Janis could only make a fly by visit to the party this yr. He had some rug rats knocking his drinking action this weekend. He's one of the few that were able to stop by & keep going. For most people, myself included... the party isn't one where you just stop by and then head out... too many people, and too many drinks.... I've got a couple of funny little stories about people but like the commercial for Vegas... what happens @ the InsidePOOL party, stays at the party. Nothing wild or bad... just funny little things drunk people say & do.

There was action everywhere you looked. This was my first time there and it will not be the last. Charlie Hillbilly Bryant crushed Mike Painter in a 10 ahead set. Saw Corey Duel at the challenge tables a couple of times and Ryan McCreash stayed in action. Had an awesome time. I with they would do this twice a year.

Timberly, calling me Mr is like putting an elevator in an outhouse.

I got stuck in the Action room most of the night with the rugrat she refused to leave until she fell asleep. My 10 year old is the only one of my 3 kids that has my love for action in her. At about 3am I asked begged her to leave so we could go nd get some sleep. She replied, I'll flip you a coin to see if we can stay another hour.

I was either that really really drunk girl or I was with her. ;) I forget which way is correct. I guess it depends on how you define drunk.

Quote, Perk: POOL & SEX: 2 things you dont have to be good at to enjoy!

I like it, Perk. Only problem is, when you play pool badly you get played again.

Here's how the brackets played down:

The final 8 from the Seniors where I posted the bracket winners played and won as following (winning bracket in parentheses) -

Ron Griffus (2) over Ed Hogge (1),
Isaace Runnels (3) over Don Steele (4),
Jim Jennings (6) over Sy Brown (5),
Larry Szaw..(7) over Robert Fuller (8)

Then -

Larry over Jim,
Isaac over Ron.

So Jim and Ron finished 3rd/4th tied.

For the Open:

Joe Scott over Rick Winpigler,
Dominick Souza over Willie Lanna,
Richard Moliniero over Richard Magaro,
Billy Ussery over Fred Wenker,
Jerry Hager over Fred Goodman,
Joe Testa over Andy Breen,
Jessie Bowman over Dan Mulhollen,
John Morra over Rich Reheard.

Then,

Dominick over Joe,
Billy over Richard Moliniero,
Jerry over Joe,
John Morra gets a forfeit from Jessie Bowman.

Then,

Billy over Dominick and
Jerry over John.

So John Morra and Dominick Souza tied for 3rd/4th.

That's a good one MJ! :p As for the 10 yr old wanting to flip a quarter to get another hour out of you... CLASSIC!! I've got this mental image of a sweet, innocent 10 yr old looking up at me talking like a seasoned gambler.... too funny!

Landshark, I don't think the girl I was talking about is from the US. I was drunk myself and some things are pretty foggy so I could be wrong. She spent some time over by the window which is why I wanted to clarify which one I was. The pics I have from the Expo are too large even after I resized them so I'm posting a smaller pic but it's not from this weekend....

Nope....we did not get to meet. Oh well, maybe next time. Well together we can name at least two really, really drunk girls. I am thinking there were at least 3, lol. But again, that still depends on how you define drunk.

Mike T...do you know where to send my $50??

landshark, kind of hard to get drunk off of chocolate milk....lmao. good thing nobody got drunk on saturday night ;) that party was a blast. got in some side action after the party, and somebody (wont mention names) was trying to disrupt the action by yelling and leaning on the pool table in a drunken stuper. it was funny, but not on my time.....lol ttyl, joey

I just wanted to say how nice it was to meet everyone that I got a chance to meet. I got a chance to really get to know quite a few people. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and spent lots of money buying great pool supplies.

Take care,
Sarah

Now I know that you don't want a hooligan brigand malefactor like me having your address.

Oh....would you accept counterfeit money?????????

Mike (really drunk this weekend, but in Tn)
