Superman's downfalls ?

And this is why professional players in general do not participate on the AZB. No one is above criticism but at AZB nobody can live up to the standards of the mob. Some has been warranted but in general it's just petty stuff that they wouldn't say to their faces or just mean spirited mud slinging.

There's a bunch of reasons pros don't do AZB. A lot of them don't even know it exits and those that do don't give a shit for a variety reasons. Fact is they have better things to do. Sadly, most of us (not leaving myself out either) don't. ;) They play pool, we talk about it. I've asked a few top players about AZ and most just laugh. Has nothing to do with people criticizing them but just the sheer volume of idiotic posts about things that are totally off their radar screen aka 'what's the best tip/ferrule/chalk/glove' etc. Hell, one dose of justnum's lunacy would be enough to make most sane people bail for life.

never recovered from his finals loss to Darryl Peach
That was a pretty major collapse. He missed a very similar shot in another event about 10 years later. There were quite a few years there where the question was whether he could win a major event.

With that being said, I think he is way past that now.

On a personal note, his runout against Chohan at the International Open One Pocket finals gave me a new interest in One Pocket. Filler's match against Hall at this year's Derby Banks finals did the same thing for Banks.

This is what gets me. How can someone who has followed the game long enough to be a pro player, not even be aware that the site exists. I know that some of them really dislike the site for various reasons, but not even know that it exists???? That just baffles me.

I love AZ but i honestly think its geared way more towards the amateur/recreational crowd. If you were a pro just exactly what would bring you here? Pros i've talked to that do know about it tend to say they just don't have any desire/reason to. IMO they have more than thick enough skin to fade any criticism that may be slung at them.

I can understand pro players not having any desire to be a part of the conversation here. It's a lot easier to reach their fanbase in the echo chamber of Facebook, where they can delete any negativity on their posts.

I don’t think so. Look at someone who seems to be tech savvy like Fedor. You think he’s unaware of AZB. Doubt it. Others who used to post have long gone. Why because they get dragged down by the negative stuff.

Look at the stuff said about some people’s drug use or dating life. Nobody at my job makes me justify any of that garbage.

I'm undecided on Robertos Sharking. If he does it, most of it seems to be unconscious.
I.e. laughing at your own pain.

Roberto has always been nice as hell to me and I've seen him be a patient coach with guys who got no chance of getting better.

Once Roberto beat me out of some cash and wouldn't accept my money.

On the other hand I asked him to play $100 a game 3c and he declined.

Overall I think he's a really nice guy and most of us have never been in a situation to win 32k

Gomez's semifinal and finals matches against Mika and Gorst in the 2018 Derby City Bigfoot challenge produced some of the greatest do-or-die shots I've ever seen.. That was the win that seemed to get the Peach pit out of his throat.

He does seem like a very nice person, but I've watched him shark his opponents. I tend to think that it's not fully unconscious when he does it.

BTW, I'm gonna take your money every single time you and me play, you nit.

And no, I will not arm wrestle you.

has his sharking been caught on video perhaps, seeing that almost every single event is streamed these days? has any of his peers complained about it?

I have two instances in mind:

1. In of the last two last Big Tyme Classic one-pocket tournaments (I think the last one), he was losing to Tommy Tokoph, and sharked him. Goberto ended up winning that match and the whole tournament. I told a friend of mine in Houston about it a week later, who later asked Tommy about it. Tommy confirmed that Goberto was sharking him and had gotten in his head.

2. In the first set in the finals between him and Sky yesterday, I think they were hill hill, and Sky shot a straight in at his hole to get to 6 or 7, while Goberto was on 5. After Sky shot, he didn't even watch the ob. He got straight up and turned around and told Goberto something...I couldn't hear, but his body language said something like "come on, man, be cool." Goberto was shrugging at him like "what did i do?" To Sky's credit, he ignored Goberto's antics the whole match, but at some point he felt he had to tell him something.

Again what specifically did he do? If this much sharking is accused then at least say exactly what he is accused of doing
Instead of saying over and over he sharked
How?

We all know how Reyes sharked Rodney infront of a full room and tv cameras
It’s on video to see
By picking up a paper in Rodney’s view as he’s on a shot

In the Tokoph match it was kinda like what bbb described...mocking him, weird mannerisms. With Sky, it appeared like he said something while Sky was down on the ball. I couldn't hear, so I don't have proof. All I can say is that Sky got up real quick after he hit the cb and went over to talk to Roberto. He didn't even watch the ob as it was headed towards his pocket.

Anyway, I got no hate for Roberto, and I think he's a nice guy and a great player. I just think he has a way of being obnoxious at the table. You know very well how some guys have that smooth shark to where their opponent looks like a cry baby if they complain.

I bet Roberto just made fart noises since sky’s butt was in his face
Who here hasn’t done that tho?
