42-39 SVB Great match

Surprisingly, Benares fighting back staying close to SVB, I think he tied it at one point or trailed by 1 rack and actually won Day 2. Final Day 3 should be a good one.
Day 1: 21-14 SVB
Day 2: 21-25 Benares

Me and my brother this last weekend played a total of probably 50 hours? On Saturday, we went to the pool hall at 11am and played non stop to close them out at 3 am. We played our best pool the last two hours.

You make your greatest improvements as a pool player when you are tired. I've often said there is nothing better than a good competitive eight hour session. Some of the absolute best pool I've ever seen played was when two good players played a long, long ten ahead set!

Back in '96 James Walden gave Coltrane the 8b, 10ahead for 10g's. Took three days. Coltrane was on the hill THREE times and didn't get the cash. James was a monster back then.

hard/expensive for some Filipinos to get Visa's and travel. They can do pretty good staying home.

thanks g.
fargo's got him 806- 765 games, which makes him the fourth best filipino, and a top 20 player in the world
I do wonder how he'd fare on a bigger stage, but I guess we're getting a taste right now vs. shane..

In a chat I had with him in 1998, Jose Parica told me that he felt he peaked in the tenth hour of play of an "ahead race". He said something just kicked in. Few would dispute that he was the toughest player ever in a "twenty ahead" action match.

Yes, long matches can make a champion of you, and Shane is just as good an example of this as Jose.

You wouldn't think Coltrane would need the 8.

I once asked Dave Hemmah (former Hard Times Bellflower house pro) how long it took him to get in stroke when he was practicing and he said 12 hours.
