The other one was made by the new sheriff and included a maple shaft and a roasted ash. I have not tried the maple yet but I played some hours with the ash. I have to say that I like it.

I can’t give it my full endorsement yet as I was playing on a little diamond table so most of my shots were light. I need to play some serious pool for a few days on a real table. It’s a very flexible shaft, tons’o feedback and some other word I can’t think of. I wasn’t sure how I’d like the very noticeable grain of the ash but it kept me focused. Like snow on the ground while hiking heavy in the hills.

LibArts is just a fancy term for what we used to call 'Humanities'. A deg. in LA's and $2 will get you a cup of coffee. Maybe.

This applies only to the Mosconi Cup because he's fantastic outside of the Mosconi Cup.

Agree.

Also, the entire Mosconi Cup is setup to embarrass the USA. A competition named after one of the greatest players in USA history is being played out like a Harlem Globetrotters game and USA are the Washington Generals. It is/was always an event to showcase the Europeans and their dominance. We have been underdogs for quite some time now and this is merely an exhibition for the Europeans to gloat to our faces.

It was designed to grow the game of pool overseas and now it is used to embarrass us.

You do realize "liberal arts" schools have STEM programs, right? It's just a way of saying you need to take more than just degree-dependent courses to graduate.

Banning the current, and possibly best American pool player of all time seems like a bad idea to me.

It's not Europe's fault at all. They are just better than Americans at the game but I just want to point out it is now being used to embarrass American players. An example would be having a NBA team play against professional midget basketball team. We know who is better and why do we have to do this?

The results may not be different but it allows them to showcase others players, perhaps more deserving than SVB. If there was an up and coming talent then its better to allow him to play than SVB getting the spot by default.

Difference in a liberal arts college and a liberal arts degree. Right? A deg. in LA's isn't worth jack shit in today's world. That's where i was going. Never said a word about various STEM deg's. avail at a 'lib art college'.

Are you high?? This is MR's big yearly tv show. Its not designed to be a breeding ground/academy for upcoming players. Its ALL about name recognition, rivalries, betting and selling ad time in the UK.
 
There are a lot of funny and interesting comments here about Shane's record in the Mosconi Cup. Lou's question about 'who else' is spot on.
I am today and have always liked and respected Shane as an accomplished player and an overall great person. But his record is not great at the Mosconi Cup.

If Shane lived in the Philippines for six months of gambling I think we'd see a way better Mosconi Cup player with Shane. There you have total mayhem in the pool halls, from roosters to dogs and cats roaming around along with all the crazy wonderful Pinoy's hanging out chatting. The chaos there would make anyone better!!

With that in mind how many others from the US have similar records ( better or worse) to Shane at the Mosconi Cup. His below 50% win record is not good and he does seem to struggle in team pool events especially this one..

Misread this (bold). You mean specifically a BA in Arts/Humanities/etc, not just BA vs BS (where there's a lot of overlap in usage). Disagree that the degree is worthless (none truly are), but many aren't worth the debt. Problem is employers demand you have the piece of paper...

But that's enough of that convo, I don't need to be reminded of that monthly bill...
