live right now... I just posted it in the other thread too on accident haha
That's called getting out from nowhere!Rack 63 (02:46:00) SVB with one of the best 10 ball runouts I've ever seen.
The shot on the 8 in the side was insane.Rack 63 (02:46:00) SVB with one of the best 10 ball runouts I've ever seen.
Day 1: 21-13 ShaneWhat was the score for today ?
He made that look like a bar table run out.Rack 63 (02:46:00) SVB with one of the best 10 ball runouts I've ever seen.
Playing his best pool of his lifeJust watched a couple of games. Shane is getting down on the ball better than ever before. He's looking straight down his cue at the cue ball. He looks really good over the ball!
Noone, but there are lots of two-way shots you can't play. Two of many possible examples would be:As for the shot on the 8ball , who says you can't play 2 way shots in 10 ball ?

Looking very bad for Chua. At same stage in his match vs SVB, Banares won 2nd day and I think came close within 1 rack or tie. Final day he lost by 12 racks. Chua in Day 2 already surpass Banares with losing margin of 13. He will be lucky to lose by less than 20.Day 1: 21-13 Shane
Day 2: 21-16 Shane
I'll predict Shane wins 63-48.
SJM many lesser players claim the #1 problem with 10 ball is you can't play 2 way shots. They obviously mean shooting the 2 and hoping the 6 goes regardless of the 2.Noone, but there are lots of two-way shots you can't play. Two of many possible examples would be:
a) Playing a shot while also using the cue ball to carom something else in.
b) Playing a bank shot with the speed/spin that will maximize the chance of it double banking on a miss.
Ten ball allows for more imagination when it's not played call shot.
I've never heard that from anyone. What you have describe is not a two-way shot but a "hit and hope for a fluke" shot.SJM many lesser players claim the #1 problem with 10 ball is you can't play 2 way shots. They obviously mean shooting the 2 and hoping the 6 goes regardless of the 2.
With the skill of these top players they aren’t going to fluke to many balls in anyway. Bangers on the other hand just hammer the balls and hope something goes in. Yes the top players get lucky sometimes but it’s not as often as people would have you to believe. These long races are decided because somebody got lucky once or twice.I've never heard that from anyone. What you have describe is not a two-way shot but a "hit and hope for a fluke" shot.
Knowledgeable players realize that many two-way shots are just as applicable to ten-ball as nine-ball, provided that the unthinkable "call safe" rule is not in use. Lesser players probably shouldn't even bother playing ten-ball.
Flukes are part of every game, even in the king of all pocket billiard games, snooker. The second most difficult cue sport is three-cushion, and there's no calling of shots in that game, either. The same is true of the very difficult game of blackball. The dumbing down in recent years of ten-ball in an attempt to try to eliminate some of the flukes has ensured that ten-ball remains a fringe game.
Well said. Agreed 100% with this. With the skill of these top players they aren’t going to fluke to many balls in anyway. Bangers on the other hand just hammer the balls and hope something goes in. That 8 ball is probably most creative shot I have seen this year
