SVB to Kick Off High Run Attempts

I will bet $20 that Shane does not beat his high run from yesterday. 241? I mean I think he will but I doubt anyone wants the won't side of it and I need a reason to sweat it.

Any takers?

Jesus, not sure the history between some of the guys on this thread, but sure looks like petty sniping to me.

  1. Glad to watch Shane make it look easy. Cueball control and shot making is impressive.
  2. Don't care his background\lack of 14.1. I learn a little something watching his approach to outs.
  3. Don't care if the table is setup forgiving. Still not seeing enormous runs yet, and I believe he is trying.
  4. Hope we do see some enormous runs. Wondering who else is coming after Shane?
  5. JS holds the record. Very impressive. Would love to see him come and give this a shot.

"Ok friends and fans. Shane VanBoening will be starting at 3pm today trying to best his personal high run and all the record high runs. Share this page and witness for FREE on our live stream the best American player 15 years in a row and a 5x US Open Champion."

And "all the record high runs." This is all so silly. What's the point of besting an imaginary high run some player did, at some time, in some faroff place, that nobody has ever heard of? If all real and perceived runs are bested, at that point, will the powers that be declare, "On this day, in the year of our Lord, 2021, we shall henceforth begin acknowledging Joe Schmo's record high-run! Wait what's that? I know...I know we declared that there are literally millions of runs in the 700s and higher that are legitimate but we were just kidding and now we want everyone to take this run seriously."

Shhhh, it's not a competition. It's just a 14.1 personal high run quest funded by a generous benefactor. Success is not determined by whether any of the participants beat any other record than their own personal bests. Running 627 will not be seen as beating any record, just a personal best done for the love of the game......

JB does not speak for our event.

Maybe he just doesn't want itemize all the runs he feels are legit.

Overqualified.
Maybe when they decide to send invitations to UNKnowns.

the roy’s basement facebook video works for me, and like yesterday, the legends facebook video is not watchable. you can follow along shane’s progress but there is a still photo about every 5-10-15 seconds

thanks roy!

You see S van B get on that key ball in rack 11? Close shave. That was probably an ‘unorthodox’ end pattern but sweetly done.

My stream has been fine all the way through. Weird how the internet does sometimes

it was a great recovery - the end pattern looked OK - he fell short on the set up ball.

that was brilliant. could've easily gone wrong

Ugh. Shane just did what thousands of 14.1 players have done before. Made a hanger, flew into the rack at high speed off the rail, broke everything up, barely had a shot afterwards, and missed with almost no balls touching each other on the table, except for what the cueball got glued to. It's uncanny how often that happens.

184. Got tight after a break shot on the second ball of the rack, very thin cut from close range, but came up a bit short. A frustrating game!!!
