SVB to Kick Off High Run Attempts

It’s like driving a car

Chance of a crash on a 1 mile drive is pretty low.

Chances of a crash on a 500 mile drive are 500X higher.

It’s linear without nerves. Add in nerves and lots can go wrong on a high run.

I made 53 spot shots in a row once. The 50th one I rattled in, was the most difficult-the mind can do funny things.

We’ll see,

He scratched right after taking a break. Wonder if that had anything to do with it.

At least he can say he never missed a shot...

I think Shane's previous personal best was done at a tournament site prior to the start of the event. I don't even remember if the event was 14.1, but I kind of remember a commentator mentioning it.

I know, but he must feel comfortable with it or he wouldn’t use it.

He also didn’t get stuck in the rack.

True I just went back and watched them all for that run, and he used it 4 times (including the last time when he scratched)

since big runs also depend on the playing conditions.
pocket size
type and speed of cloth
temp and humidity in the room

it would be nice to give some rating of the playing conditions.

i read that someone used Dr. Dave's Table Difficulty Factor, and this event table is rated 'very easy'. That doesn't include the cloth, just the table size, pocket sizes and shelf.

Earlier on this thread the event people thought the table should be optimized for making big runs easy.
