SVB vs Hennessee 10 ball

They both have played bad other than Shane dominating the first hour to get on the hill and John dominating the next hour... Been ugly all around since then

Shane hit a wall about 4am , he has been playing for 2 days. Give John crdit though for coming back when Shane was on the hill.

IMO it was an outlast... John plays good, alot better than what he did tonight and we all know how good Shane is when he is on

They both played bad overall. Will be interesting to hear what others think
 
The cleaning ladies were vacuming under Shanes feet when he was shooting, honest to god! It was an outlast match, both were tired and at about 80%-90% of their speed.
 
Although I really don't know JH's game that well it seemed to me he played well most of the time. I would say Shanes game was a little off and his break wasn't any better than JH's in this match.

I've noticed over the years that top players that win or are near the top in tournaments year after year and win a big percentage of their money matches have one thing in common. The very top players all play every part of the game well, but what makes guys like Shane almost ubbeatable is his powerful break in 8,9, and 10-ball and his ability to make table length shots a lot better than just about everybody at this time. In other words you better hide his ass...leaving him 8 foot away is just going to get you burnt.

Sadly these are the two things that you lose (powerbreak and making long shots at a high percentage rate) as you get older. The older players that do well in their 40's and up are the one's that played pinpoint position and had the moves. Johnnyt

IMO this is why Johnny A. has slipped a notch....because his long shot making has gone down a little. Thats all it takes because then the misses start getting into your head and other parts of your game suffer from there.
 
How did it all end up?
It was hysterical and sad at the same time watching the cleaning ladies vacuming under their feet while they were shooting the cheese.
 
I watched most of it. The turning point was when the cleaning lady first sharked John, where he missed his out ball. Shane then went to shoot at the last ball and he got sharked even worse, and missed. After that, for the next several games, Shane got really visibly upset. The cleaning lady put the vacuum between Shane's feet when he was shooting at another ball. Then later on, Shane was at the table about to shoot, and the cleaning lady got right up close to him again, like right next to him. That was the first time I saw Shane ever lose his cool. When Shane missed a few shots that he would never miss right after that, I knew that Hennessee was gonna take control. Those cleaning ladies were unbelievable! I mean right up in his face, vacuuming between his feet, and I think one of them even asked Shane to MOVE his feet while he was at the table, so she could vacuum there. LOL
 
The turning point wasn't Shane losing his cool because of the cleaning ladies... it was lack of sleep and being fatigued. The guy probably hadn't slept two hours since he had been at the DCC. There was one time when he dogged a shot and lucked it in... he slammed his cue on the table and took a break to grab a Red Bull. BigNasty thought that him getting fired up that we were going to see a different Shane, but the fatigue was too much to overcome.

Shane doesn't abuse "nose medication" to help keep his focus after long hours like many other pool players do and I give him props for that. Red Bull just couldn't get him there.
