SW Cues

I've just started this sports few years back, and have owned/played with a few custom and production cues. Out of all the cues, I'm now playing regularly with my SW, which I love to bits!

It plays consistent, solid hit packs a punch. I also have another sister cue design SW which I keep for love sake which is simply the reverse design of my playing SW. So maybe I have contributed to the rise in value.

But seriously, for those who have not tried it before, pls try playing with it and then decide if it is a good cue that generates such demand. I'm not saying it is the best cue, but it certainly is worth every cent of it.

I have had somewhere between 8 and 10 SouthWest cues and I while they were all very solid hitting cues only two were less than 19.5 ounces. Those were the two that I used for a while and I just flipped the others because I picked them up reasonably cheap through either trades or just being in the right place when someone needed money.

I think they are great cues and I love the look but they are usually too thick in the butt and too heavy for my playing tastes.

Yeah because EVERYBODY lost their job, and NOBODY has any money, right? <dumb ass reply off...>

All this talk about no jobs....The Veterans Administration here in Muskogee has hired over 600 people in the past 2 yrs. There will be about 300 more jobs early next year. These jobs dont start at what I make, but they will start at 38117.00/yr range. I guess its bad in other parts of the country, but if you want a job and are willing to work, there are jobs here.

I have 2 SW cues and 1 of them hits like a really hard donkey turd....my M-1 Meucci hits better than the SW...the other SW hits really good though. The SW cues are a tad too thick in the butt for my hand though. I have a cpl Sugartree cues and they hit as good as the best hitting SW I have ever hit with if not better. Also, SW just makes 1 style of cue but with some diff variations...so to me, they all look pretty much the same, with just diff woods and veneers..but thats just my opinion

Some people like the hit of a SW, some dont. I would suggest trying one out if you find someone that has one. Hit with as many diff cues as you can, I can almost bet you that you will find a cue that hits just as good as a SW for alot less money.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jerry and Lori for a long time,I have been in their shop dozens of times,Jerry spent lots of time showing me how they build cues and why.At the end of his career Jerry was doing the wraps and the finish only(for the most part if not exclusively) Mickey,Al and his brother Gary were doing the cue building> Gary did inlays only.

These cues played so good that more people wanted them than they could make, most people were probably like me,they couldn't keep them because they were offered a profit.
Every time I get one ,someone offers me a profit. The truth is most dealers don't want trades unless it is a South West or priced low.Dealers trade these almost like cash

The cues still sell at record levels, dealers buy them the day you get them,if someone can accept the one they have on order,Lori can call me and I will take it at full price ,sometimes more.

How anyone in the WORLD could say" the old ones hit better" is a mystery to me,the same people with the same woods, on the same machines, make the same cues under the same careful watchful eye of Lori are putting out the exact same quality cue.,and quite frankly I think anyone who says differently ,has an ulterior motive or is repeating what someone else said. The new cues are indistinguishable from the new in appearance or play. The difference might be nostalgia.

To prove this I am willing to do a blind test and offer anyone who can pick the older ones out from hitting the cues an opportunity to win or lose $25,000.No one is barred including Vince Tedesco the greatest living authority on southwest cues.

It is not possible to tell the play of the old cues (Jerry era) from the new cues.Regardless of who says what, they are the same.I talked with Billy Incardona and he wants another one and was planning on calling 702 870 9615 to order a new one,as high as he plays don't you think he would get an old one if they were better.

The biggest problem is getting one.

Am I spelling Lori right?I never could spell.
