Sorry, but Justis wins this by TKO ;)

Justis wins this fight for looks but Swift wins the battle for price..... You can get a great condition Swift for $200 if you look around..

I have one of each....and both are fantastic cases. The Justis is a ProLite. Very light, very sharp looking, very well made. The Swift is a bit heavier, but with excellent leather, gorgeous tooling, and tube-style construction for the cues.

All in all, you can't go wrong with either. Jack is a fantastic guy to work with, and I enjoyed placing the order for my ProLite through him. His work is flawless, and you can customize it all day long.

I got my Swift from a good friend, and was immediately pleased with how well built it was. Sturdy, beautiful, and a touch of "old school" feel to it.

Either case maker will do right by you.....so either choice you make will be a good one.

Im very impressed by Dennis Swift the person also. He is very nice and cares very much what the customer likes. He was selling me a case, noticed a mark on the case and built me another one for a very good price. I was very impressed and will continue enjoying my Swift case. I dont care for prolite, I dont feel that it protects the cues nearly as well as tubes. To me protection of my cues in number 1, so Swift or tube Justis. Just my two cents.

My perspective on this is that the Justis case is a Porsche and the Swift is a Corvette. To me, I have seen allot of Justis cases that are just so nice that I wouldn't want to beat them up back and forth to the pool room. The Swift case on the other hand just seems more practical. In fact the older they are the better they look. I personally like the aged, antique look they start to have. I have carried my 2 Swifts for well over ten years and they look better all the time. Last year I sent them back and Dennis did a nice touch up on them. Love both of them, I like the Swift for an everyday case. But, there is no doubt that Justis is the elite case maker on the planet. (Whitten, Swift and Justis are definitely my 3 favorites)

Just my 2 cents.............

And the Murnak is the Rolls Royce. Great looking with passionate work put into them as per the users specs, Durable, Functional, and otherwise, totally amazing. Plus Jim Murnak is special as is his cases.

For some reason, I just have seen much of Jim's work. I am sure it is fantastic, I just haven't been exposed to it. :)

Justis without a doubt in my mind. His cases give the competition at least the last two.

justis

i can tell you i just bought a swift online and when i got it it was awful! the seems were way off, the leather was cut wavy, wavy meaning the pocket didnt go straight up and down it looked like an s the sewing was overlapped. it was just awful! i mean awful! i sold it for 50 less then i paid for it becouse i couldnt stand it! i am currently ordering a custom justis! jack is very good with his attention to detail! i cant wait to get it! my vote is for justis all the way! murnak then whitten!

I bought a Dennis Swift in 94, for a mere $165 SHIPPED. That case is right beside me as has been an excellent case for over a decade. Nothing has ever been replaced and it looks and functions GREAT. I have finally decided to take the plunge and get a Justis case, I'm finisihing up the order form in the next few days. In my opinion, it's the Ford vs. Chevy debate, whatever makes you happy, get it.

Cue Cases

I have only recently purchased a Justis. I just sold it, though (had it less than 3 months). I wasn't a real fan of the prolite...not that it isn't light... which it is... but it has ZERO padding... well not zero, just about the 1st 6 inches inside the case. The rest, just a paper-thin nylon...Other than that, no padding on the bottom... just the thin PVC shell. Nice leather, though...

I could never afford one of the "high end cases," so I made my own. I studied a lot of pictures of other cases, started doing repairs, asked about what people liked, disliked, and so on. I made some of my own improvements, etc.. and now make several "flavors" of cue cases... mostly one-off stuff "What do you need... what color...pockets, length, etc..." Locally, I have offered some true one-of-one custom cases.:D

Even though they are heavy, I prefer a Whitten over both Justis and Swift, primarily because of overall protection. Also, I am not a big fan of rivets. All are nice, and should suit you fine if you don't abuse them. I also like the old style tube cases by Ron Thomas.

Are you serious???

Justis for looks, durability.. hands down. If you can't afford one, buy the Swift, heck really save yourself money and get an import... This question is like whats better.. a Szamboti or a Camel cue..

Justis cases are diamonds in the coal boxcar of cases

BTW Whittens are damn sporty to.. and in my mind a close second.
