Table leveling

Did any of you guys see the accu-stats stream last night? Did ya see that guy leveling the 5x10?

I don't know who he is, but he's the guy I want to do my next open heart surgery. This hadda be the most meticulous human being alive.

WTF, he was leveling that thing for over 3 hrs straight! He must have had a dozen or more levels on the table. I think I saw one of those rooster wind direction things too! He even had markers all over the table. I think that must have been some kind of Garmin direction satellite thing. Wow.

Holy crap! I must be getting old, I've never seen anything like it before.

You aren't kidding! I saw that guy and I was like... damn dude, if anyone complains about the table after this match they're a heartless human being, because this guy poured his soul into leveling that table. I snapped a screenshot.

My bet is Paul Smith. He does the tables for Turning Stone. Like me somewhat vertically challenged? Jovial face. Meticulous craftsman at his job. Perhaps in his fifties? Wants the Orange Crush to play ;):p?

The stream featured watching a guy level a table for 3 hours?

Yah you really need 11 levels to do it right.

Plus a half dozen level checkers and two level checker calibration machines. :D

That's Paul Smith with Diamond. There's 24 levelers around the outside parameter of the slate plus 15 more levelers under the middle of the slate that are used to raise or lower the slate in order to level the table to perfection, not to mention all 6 legs are adjustable as well. Thaf's a total of 51 leveling points, no other pool table in the world has a system like the Diamond's do;)

How do you account for the curvature of the earth?

Table

Diamond&company designed that table to be leveled down to the -T- in starrett.
Starrett #97-#98, he's using the #98-12 and the #98-8.. Starrett are .005 Ft accurate, most slates are machined to 0.010. I don't know the tolerance on the diamond one piece slates. But a ten foot one piece slate can take a lot of time in pushing a level around to fine tune.
+1 for diamond&company for raising the standards of the game.

Crap. And the guys use one small torpedo level and handfuls of drink coasters to level the bar boxes they we play on.

No wonder I can't play worth a darn. Its all their fault.

And then ya got me that gets all anal about leveling one 4x4 fence post and the cross rails.
