Table quality

A friend asked me about an Athens table sold in a Sierra Collection at Cosco and other distributers. I know nothing about them and don't know who builds them. Does anyone here have experience with them?

They are made by American Heritage. A.H. used to be made in Brunswick, OH then moved to Streetsboro, OH. They've had their issues but for casual home use were not too badly built and are family friendly. I've heard they now import from China so buyer beware if they are of the quality of other Chinese imports I've seen and worked on. Lots of quality control issues!

There are some quality issues. I have noticed some things with the Costco tables. No surprise since they're being sold from a bulk/discount retailer that the table would be made to keep the cost down. All in all though, not a bad import and the ones I've been able to follow up on seemed to have maintained their level with little frame sag compare to other brands I've seen.

These tables are bad tables. Instead of a leg stud they have a small 5/16" insert that fails. The frame is undersized which makes the tables difficult to level. The cushions will go hard in a matter of years. Its not that the materials or craftsmanship is bad. Its the design.

Thanks for the info.

Costco, like Sears, sell disposable pool tables, sooner or later the buyer is going to have to dispose of the pool table because they have NO resale value once they've been bought new.

OK, thanks. Weren't you recently in Colo. Springs? Pretty nice down there.
