Table vacuum

what i usually do is hand-brush all the dirt and move all these "foreign particles" into the bottom of the rails. then from the rails, brush it going to the pockets. then i vacuum the rails and the pockets.

I have a handheld Shark(brand) vacuum. Very long cord, nice wide bristle attachment, powerful but not ridiculous suction. Works very well, and is not " big" like household or shop vac types. Not a single complaint with years of use.

Problem with brushing is it embeds as much chalk dust into the cloth as it removes from it. Brushing is good in a pinch for a once in a while quick clean if you have to, but its not good to do regularly.

I agree with this.

Brushing is a good option for debris on the surface, but, only in a pinch.

I will add, fwiw, no one will ever use kamui chalk or any other new formula chalk that is pasty. That material is triple hard to remove from cloth.

And as Fats would say, that's "triple smart" not to use it. :p

I use the Dyson hand held. Quite a bit of suction for a small unit and it is easily stored out of the way.

Probably the best is a Rainbow but very expensive. If you look rebuilds can be found.

I use Metrovac. Its small but really sucks. With a horse hair brush attachment there's no way to pull the cloth. Using a carpet (no bristles) IMO is a no no.

I use this for all small jobs around the house. Really good for cleaning out the auto's. Yes I keep a dedicated brush for the table.
