rare TADD cue?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK... here's the short story. I obtained ownership of this cue 10 years ago in a pool hall. The previous owner had been given the cue 15(?) years earlier as a gift from his wife and inlaws.
I've played with it here and there in pool bars not knowing what I had. Recently I was told by a friend that I am possibly the owner of a rare and collectable cue.
Can anybody give me some history and info about this TAD?
It's in superb condition, 100% original (including the case), never been refinished, etc.. Please view photos and let me know. Any info is appreciated.
Currently clueless,
Fred

Looks like a Tad to me. Certainly the ringwork in the butt-sleeve area plus the dyed birdseye maple forearm. Need the vintage Tad experts to chime in.

Looks like an early Tad, maybe mid 70's model.

Thank you for all the feedback guys. I've had people place a value anywhere from $800 to $3500........ or is it just a decent cue for an average player?

Fred

Hi Fred,

I would say you definitely have an old Tad there. It's very much like the one I used to have (see attachments). It is probably from the late 60's if it isn't marked. That's about the same time as mine was made and you can certainly see the similiarities. Depending on the condition, you should be looking from $1,000-$1,500 for it. Nice cue!

Regards,

Steve

Steve,
Does this Tad you pictured have something engraved in the delrin band above the sleeve? Was it customized for someone?

It's an older Tad. With one shaft, I would say $1200 is about right, add $250 to $300 for extra shafts. The plain Tad's sell OK, the pointed ones sell like hotcakes. They are a terrific player cue.
