anyone tried these? i threw one on a shaft of mine and i don't really like the way it plays. it plays something like a delaminated layered tip. is there some break in time? do they need to compress a little more?

I once tried one (a medium) and didn't like it at all. It was just too hard. But I know a couple of players that swear by 'em.

They are decent, they mushroom a little when new but after that they settle in and are good hard tips. But yes they are on the hard side and mushroom easily at first.

I heard they smell good when getting trimmed on the lathe.

Those are water buffalo tips which are "urine tanned", I remember when the first batches came to Best Billiards and we kept them in a plastic tub, man did they smell BAD!!

Tad Tips

I have owned 2 new Tad cues. Obviously they came with Tad tips. Incredibly hard and worthless to me.

I usually play with a Moori soft.

THEN TADS PLAY!
