Scott I have no problems with the BCA, or you, and really, if youve never been in the "ZONE" how can you teach someone to get there? you dont, you may claim you can, but all your really doing is being a "coach".. If the billiards instructional material available was all absolutely correct then why do players seek instruction from outside sources??????? such as tennis? Golf????? BECAUSUE THEY ARE TIRED OF THE BS. apparently they realize that what they are getting is comming from a "Idealist" someone who has an IDEAL of what the player needs or what they think a player needs and some might actualy improve some players to an extent.
AS a Whole If you look at the billiards industry, the majority of the percentage of sales of Billiards instruction comes from players. People want to learn from players, not an "Idealist" granted I have my own idealistic views, but this comes from actual time at the table, from not only Victory but also defeat. Id like to be able to say I beat every high calibur player ive encountered, but that would be a lie.
you say Im "Old School" I say, If Being able to Achieve Dead Stroke is Old School Im all in. My views, may not be accepted by the BCA, This is the Internet and I speak to the WORLD If these people sent me an e-mail and tell me, the material on your site is total BS and even though Ive tried and gave my all it in no way helped me I will remove it. I dont care what you think, and calling me out wont do any good because we have been down that road correct? Since my site has been up you yourself have taken several cheap shots at me or the site. Thats ok, your entittled to your opinion, but at some point Im going to want to defend myself. Why? I havent taken any cheap shots at your school. But fair is fair... I think if you want to totaly disrespect me, I should have a right to uphold my values. I say enough already, Im not trying to segregate the billiards industry, I say lets work together.
Im working hard, and Im in contact with alot of potential contributors to my site, every one a PLAYER. No wanabe's are allowed. Thats my Vision, a site dedicated to Players.

Scott Lee said:SPINDOKTOR...Just so you know, I'm not calling you out...however, some of the information on your site IS incorrect. I'm not sure how you can quantify that you address issues not covered in pool school, since you've never been to one. Getting "in the zone" is first about getting control of your stroke, and then creating a perfect, repeatable setup and delivery process. The information is provided to the student...but it up to them whether or not they're willing to put in the hard work to make it replace what they were doing. Being a good instructor is not about being a good player. Those of us who can play well, as well as teach, have an advantage...but almost always in any sport, the best teachers are not the best competitors. Pool is no different. Your achievements as a player really are unrelated to your potential ability to convey accurate, quality information. There are tons of champion players who can't teach a lick. Efren is one, and makes no bones about it, to anyone who asks. It's too bad you "have no desire" to be associated with the BCA instruction program. You likely could learn a LOT about becoming a better "coach" yourself...provided you came to pool school with an open mind.
