So my wife got me a Samsung Note II. One helluva "phablet".

I was surfing the forum here and it was very cool. What is this tapatalk thing? The forum seems to work fine without it, why would I need it?

Is it because I have such a monsterously large phone screen that I don't see the need?

Whatever advice or insight can be provided would be appreciated. I am a bit new to such phones.

I like it!

Makes it easier to navigate and use. I find it nice not having to strain reading little print or fumbling to resize all the time.

But, you can decide for yourself. It has some fancy features on the paid ipad version that are pretty nice! I use it on phone and ipad.

It's a cheap app which is great and it makes forums easy to read. I love it for phone and ipad. A no brainer.

Tapatalk makes it easier tro navigate the forum on the phone. Browsing the forum even on the Samsung using the browser is still a bit clumsy. I still think tapatalk could use a lot of improvement though.

I have the note2 as well.

There's also an AZB app, which I use on my android phone. It simply strips down all the fluff and reduces the forums to a very 'thumb-friendly' mobile version without images, sigs, avatars, and most buttons. If you just want to read and maybe dash off a quick reply it's the most painless way on a small screen. I think on a larger screen like the note II, you might as well use the full forum.

Got a link? I looked for it in the play store and didn't find it. I suppose I should poke around the homepage. I mean the AZB app, I have tapatalk.

Thanks!

The fact that you have the same phone says a lot.

I'll give it a shot.

I get the buy Tapatalk message popping up on my iphone twice for every page load. Really annoying. Is this an AZB ad? Doesn't happen on my ipad though. Any way to turn that off?

The biggest reason I use Tapatalk on my phone versus the browser is that youtube links show up as embedded video in the post and my phone handles that much better. It's also a bit faster then dolphin or the stock browser.

I am currently using the free Tapatalk 4 (beta) upgrade....some nice features, especially moving from one page of the thread to the next being just a thumb slide away. Still having issues replying with quotes, but that is what a beta version is all about...working out the bugs.

Tapatalk just makes reading forums much much easier on a smartphone...and not just AZB!

I have it too on my GS3, it's just called AZBillards.com and the icon says Forum Reader. I looked around on Play Store too but I couldn't find it. I'll keep looking for an archive or see if I can find the .apk installer and send it.

It's nothing flashy at all though, but does load and respond very fast. Here is a screenshot of the main forum with the app from my phone.

We have the windows 8 version I used to have the android version on the Galaxy it's fine. Some features are missing comparatively to the website. But I still bought the full version because I do like some of it's features over the website. I do use both.
