TAR 31 Podcast w/Shane and Mike+Guest Host Jennifer Barretta 9PM Tonight. Questions?

another question for both:

Has anyone helped you with your mechanics and fundamentals when you were progressing or did you try to imitate other players you saw?

Question for both of them,

What do you think the biggest package is gonna be this weekend?

Does Mike D do any special neck exercises to help support that Monster head when he leans over the pool table. Part two can he buy hats off the rack or does he need to custom order.

Nick "Member of the Big Head Club" B

I seriously second this.

best,

Justin also a "Member of the Big Head Club"

Justin:

If you ask Mike about the ego/big head thing.... use this as a follow-up:

Does it bother you that some players and spectators have a preconceived notion that you're egotistical or maybe "Difficult?" If not, do you take after the Emperor in Star Wars in that hate makes you stronger -- maybe even play better?

The reason why I ask is I know of a few players that play their best when they hold their opponent in contempt -- and almost aren't capable of playing their top speed if they really like their opponent.

For Jennifer: Is she happy with how that 9-Ball movie turned out? Is she happy with how Sharks is going?

For Shane: What did he think of the challenge match at DCC this year with Frost? Does he have any thoughts on doing a TAR with one pocket instead of 10-ball?

(I actually don't know if it happened, I heard it was on, then it was off, etc)

For Mike: Knowing that Shane is most likely not going to hear anything that's said, does that affect his speech filter? Is he likely to talk more or less since there's less chance for a response?

ask jennifer what spot she would need playing shane or mike d. also id like to hear mike and shanes thoughts on why women players arnt as good as men, aside from the break.

For Shane and Mike, what are your thoughts on sharking and could you each describe your worst experience (i.e. who were you playing, gambling or tournament, what did the other player do, etc.)?

Thanks

does this interview mean that none involved has a valentine date?

the camera should be pointed toward the person asking questions tonight:cool:

Ask them how they feel about Justin trash talking Earl Strickland behind his back on a public forum because acording to him ...

In my experience Earl is batshit crazy, quits when he has a chance to win and at the end of the day is more of a liability than an asset.

...instead of telling Earl himself face to face like real men do, then keeping his opinion to himself ? How do they feel about working with someone that is just as likely to do the same thing to them if he decides that he "just can't handle the drama", or if he decides that they just aren't trying hard enough to win. Or any other B.S. reason he may come up with. Ask them if they think that supporting this type of behavior is really "Good for Pool."

Just Curious............."Home Skillet"

Like JCIN is afraid of Earl lol. Boy people have 10 pound balls on the Internet
Kind of like you barking at JCIN behind the keyboard.
Where do you keep those gigantic balls lol

JCIN is a big boy, I'm sure he can take the heat. Did you just assume he needed you to have his back ? And BTW it's not about the fear factor, it's about RESPECT. Something neither JCIN or you seem to understand. Did I miss something, or aren't you typing on a keyboard as well ?

For all 3 players........

1. What opponent in your career surprised you the most when you matched up against them? As in, you didn't realize they had THAT high of a gear? This could be in action or a tournament.

2. What's the biggest mistake you see amateurs make? As is the ones that really love pool and are trying to get better......not just a banger. Is it a particular fundamental flaw (ie. bridge, grip, stance, etc.) or something mental?

3. How many hours a day, week and month do you spend purely practicing? Whether it be straight drills or just rolling balls out on the table and working on certain things by yourself.

4. What do they think it will take for there to be a true, viable men's tour? And if it did happen, would they support "amateurs" playing in these tournaments, as long as they have fulfilled the qualifications for the tour.....whether it be simply buying a membership or what not? Or would they rather there be something along the lines of the PGA golf tour where only the best earn a card to play at the highest level with the best competition.

5. Kinda along the lines of the above question, but.......do they mind drawing amateurs at tournaments? I know that some pro's really don't like competing against players that are significantly less skillful. Does it throw them off their game? Basically, since those types of players tend to use erratic shot selection, speed control, etc. and it can constantly change the flow of a rack.

6. What no-longer-active player (whether it be living or dead) would they most have liked to have had the opportunity to play? And in what discipline (8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball,14.1, Banks, 1P, etc.

7. Is there a certain moment in their career, whether it be a great tournament finish/win.......or maybe an "aha" moment where they learned something.......that put the idea in their head that being a pro pool player was their calling?

8. Have you ever been hustled? Details!

This question is for all three.

As you were growing up in the pool world, who did you think was the best player and did you fashion your style of play after them?
