TAR 35 Podcast with Shane Van Boening Tomorrow 9 PM Eastern. Questions?

Jcin. If you are going to talk about bonus ball I think you should watch more than just 40 minutes of the YouTube match. At least the 60 ball run.

Can you ask him if he enjoyed that speed pool thingy ma bobber? I just watched the youtube clip of him and DeLuna and it looked like they had a lot of fun. It's nice to see them smiling after their racks. I was laughing with them.

Thank you.

Can you ask if Shane had taking lessons from any pool instructor? Did he use any instructional materials?

Thanks.

I wanna know at what moment in his early pool days did shane make a break through in his gmae and what it was?

Like at 18 he ran a 6 pack beat the ghost , got his break?

Shane seemed to bulk up a bit (from working out) when he played Busty. He seems to have eased up on that and is playing better. Was this by design or is he still working out as much?

Nick

When he travels, how does he transport his gear? Checked baggage (inside duffelbag, or loose), or does he FEDEX it on to the next stop, etc.

How often, if ever, does he change out his shaft? Does he stick with the same shaft/tip religiously, or does he mix it up a bit between a couple of spares? Does he let a mechanic clean his shaft between tip replacements, or does he keep it organic?

I have noticed that Shane, and many other players, shoot shots much harder when practicing than they would when actually competing in a match. Please ask him to explain why that is and if he recommends it to amateurs who are trying to find ways to get to the next level?

And I would also like to know about the US Open; did he get paid in full yet and is he planning on playing this year?

Thank you.

Good announcers really make the telecast.
I know it cost money for good broadcasters, I am willing to pay extra.
I really enjoyed Grady Matthews.

Signing off, I wish to say hi and all the best to all my ex wifes..

Robert LeBlanc will be in the booth. Jeremy Jones can make it Saturday. I am working on some others. We pay commentators $100 each per day now so thats $600 a match. Adding airfare and hotel to fly guys in is just not possible at this time.

Why? I don't like the game. I think it is silly.I have been watching it develop since it was debuted on a bar table in the lobby of the US Open years ago.

If others like it thats great. Its not my thing. Spending hours watching purple and orange being continuation shotted and whatever else will not change my outlook on it. I gave it a shot during the attempted streams and on the recording to see what it would look like with full production support of the game. To me it just ended up looking like a well produced silly game.

This Thursday we will not be spending much if any time at all on BB. Friday we have the two best ten ball players in the world starting a race to 100. Its a match I have wanted to see since 2007. I plan to focus on that.

Shane played the BB match against the Canadian team. Did he decline an invite to have a BB team? If so, will he comment on why? Were there things in the contract that limited his other opportunities?

Cool. I feel the same about 1pkt.

Question for Shane

Ask him if he is cheering for our home state boy - Mike Miller and the Miami Heat in the NBA finals.

Any plans to go after decent paychecks in China? I think there are few tournaments every year that pays out 40K to the winner.

Any plans to make the West Coast swings and play some tourneys in California, especially northern CA?

Cool. I feel the same about 1pkt.

I know others who feel the same as you. It simply bores them and they do not see the things in the game that people who love it do. Same for any particular game. Different strokes and all that.

What break cue does Shane use with what tip? Does he also break with his shooting stick, if so for which games and why? I notice that he breaks with his shooting stick on 9 ball.

What break does he likes to use for 9 ball, 8 ball, and 10 ball? Is it the same in a bar table as in 9ft?

Thank you!

BB Pockets

I'm interested to know what Shane's view is on Bonus Ball. The game, not the league. Darren Appleton has stated that the game of Bonus Ball is the best game and better than 10ball. I'd like to know how Shane honestly feels about the game and the way it's played.

If Bonus Ball does come up can you ask him what he thinks of the pocket size...and is it beneficial to have pockets that tight.

Bonus Ball

I understand 100% about focusing on the upcoming 10ball match and I cannot wait to watch some REAL pool with two of the best players in the world! I do however want to hear Shane's thoughts on Bonus Ball and think others do as well. If it is not what you want to ask I completely understand but I am very curious as to the following:
1. what does Shane thinks of the game and how it is played
2. why did Shane intitilally agree to play and then change his mind
3. if Bonus Ball becomes mainstream what are Shane's thoughts on how this will affect the other major pool tournaments i.e US Open, Tunica

Thank you,

Nick St. Jean
