This might be the best picture I have ever seen!
You are right, that is a great pic! Someone needs to make a poster of that and send it to Shane.

and with each match at the TAR house, SVB's 'home team' advantage increases.
Pool is not like a football game. When they come back the next day it's a new day, a new start.
In the old days when the straight pool players played big blocks the papers would report on who won the day as well as the overall match standings.
So it is relevant that Dennis "won" the third day. The stats bear out that he played better on the third day.
One great thing about the long race format is the ability to see swings and get lots of stats on the top players.
Zoom in on Shane's glasses and you'll see a reflection of Shane's hand holding the camera.

Next match Shane plays we will put the table in the parking lot to eliminate that huge home field advantage.
It will be a pain to fade stopping every time someone yells "CAR!" but its really the only way to make it fair. Evidently playing Shane inside an office building with 15 people in it is tantamount to being the visiting team at Yankee Stadium.
I'm not following you here. What's your point? I mean, who would want to go PPV in a parking lot TAR match?
WAIT!!! Come to think of it, let's lower the TAR table from a helicopter on the strip on a Friday night. TAR that sh1t live, post to youdube next day, post on MY Facebook - and I SWEAR that would save pool.
Not foolin' no more.

Na you don't need to do all that just tighten the pockets and have Dippy Dave break for both players

We will be playing on a 7x14 snooker table with pyramid balls using the bucket break (in the parking lot).
In order to save pool all players will be required to wear full tuxedos while playing.

My differing opinion? The match was all but over after day 2. Come Sunday, had it been within 10 games or so, I'd have (with all due repsect and honesty Justin) bought the PPV. OR... if something was "more" on the line Day 3, be it a "donkey undercard" as I have respectfully called it before, or a standalone set/bet between SVB and DO, I'd be more enticed to want to watch. As I expressed in your poll 5 weeks or so ago.
Sunday, I chose - on a beautiful night - to grill rib eye and put Al Green and my funky (sometimes embarassing) man moves to good use... vs 4 hours spent watching a done deal.
Ok but we have all seen the big comebacks in all sports. And we have seen one of the greatest already when Alex came back on Shane. I bet on Alex when he was down and it was an incredible sweat.
I do agree though that when score is so lopsided going into day 3 it won't inspire anyone to buy day 3.
And thats exactly what happened...but..its the nature of the beast. I think the race to 100 was the right choice for this match. I do not see too many future match ups that would it would be good for.
I have kicked around the idea of a semi-tennis type scoring format for years. maybe next time Dennis and Shane play we can try that.
So say races to five. Alternate break for each race to five (Player 1 breaks until someone wins the race to five then it switches.). First one to win three races takes the set. Play till one guy wins whatever number of sets. One sticking point on the breaking situation is I am not positive how big an advantage the guy getting the first break rotation will have. Could be huge and might not mean much my gut says its could be pretty big. I havent thought a whole lot about it. Lots of details to work out but it could be interesting.
I think you have the perfect laboratory to try out whatever you like. Buddy Hall said he favors alternate breaks because he said if he gets beat then at least he had the same amount of breaks as the other guy.

I have never liked alternating breaks each game and been vocal about it. Doing the one guy breaks for a race to five then the other guy breaks for a race to five could be interesting though I think. Breaking a guys serve would be a big deal. But is the guy who breaks first at too big of an advantage?
In tennis, they take turn serving after each game also.
