TAR 37 Contest for a Contest Idea

Closest prediction for total number of posts in the Schmidt/Harriman thread by Friday. You could cut off the guess time on Wednesday night and sit back and watch the ridiculousness ensue.

photo shopping will be tough to beat but i would have u start a new topic ala geno's perfect aim thread promoting tar 37 and whoever is a specific #'d post will win a free ppv, it could be post # 500 or 1000 whichever is appropriate for the amount of time b4 the ppv starts, this would be perfect for az billiards because so many ppl on here these days are only interested in increasing their post counts

u could just run photo shopping w this type of contest to make it more interactive

How about who can make the best promotional video for the match? Winners can be chosen by justin or be decided on by most views.

Once I heard this thread was up I didn't believe it so I got in a fight with my barber. Once I get out of jail I will pass out fliers without finishing my cut.

Scavenger Hunt within new TAR website

How about a scavenger hunt within your new TAR website? Seekers must find a hidden items (within paragraphs or videos or podcasts) on each of your website pages. Lets say they find 1 per page for a total of 8 items. Then you random draw for the overall winner from all whom entered with the correct found scavenger items.

Idea

Select and date and time. Of the active users that are logged in, copy and paste there name to word. Use random.org and reward the lucky 5. Simple

I am all for that. The only hang up is that type of contest is against the Facebook TOS. I know lots of people do them but according to the rules if you make someone share a post to have a chance to win something Facebook can suspend your account and I just have not wanted to take a chance.

"3. Promotions may be administered on Pages or within apps on Facebook. Personal Timelines must not be used to administer promotions (ex: “share on your Timeline to enter” or “share on your friend's Timeline to get additional entries” is not permitted)."

If it is ok to use a company page for that type of promotion I would do it. I am just familiar enough with all the rules to know what is allowed and what is not. This why in past contests I didnt require sharing to enter and just drew a random number.

I have no knowledge of Twitters TOS but if its allowed there I will do one.

I've been sharing everything TAR/Mosconi related on Facebook for a couple of weeks. The people I know through school aren't interested in pool but the links I've shared made more than a few curious. Curious enough to make them want to go play some pool after school. TAR makes pool look cool, and Mosconi Cup gather interest through it's rivalry.

I think the combination of the two, shows what pool is all about or what it can be. A fun competetive sport which can be enjoyed and praticed as a "Lone Ranger" or as a part of a team.

What I'm getting to is I do not overestimate the power of advertising on Facebook but it can create some interest, and I'd like the TAR homepage to gather a bigger following. We need to get it to 5000 to start off.

I think giveaways should be handed out through the Facebook page. I hope everyone who has liked the TAR page shares their posts/links.

Go TAR!

Maybe you could use little known facts about each player as a question during the podcast and have people submit answers. For example, it could be something like Corey's high run in snooker or something silly like the number of things Shane keeps in his case and the winner would be the closest guess without going over.

I want to give away some free PPV's for TAR37 this weekend. In the past I have done the guess the score thing and feel like doing something new. So I will give away a free PPV to the person who comes up with the most fun/interesting way to give away PPV's.

This idea can be for here on AZ or on Facebook. If I use two different ideas I will give two PPV's.

This will run until noon tomorrow.

Any ideas?

How about play the 9 ball rack as 9 ball, one pocket (using 9 balls), and as 8 ball (using the 9 as 8 ball)
Score gets added for how many games in an inning say race to 20, player wins 20 games win the set
You could use the 10 ball rack instead, or 6 balls

Why don't you have a...take the square root of an isosceles triangle and multiply that by how many balls a Pygmy Ninja makes on the break on a bumper pool table...contest.

Or have photo/caption contest.

Pygmy Ninjas are the teacher. :)

You sir are a front runner in this contest.

Awesome idea.

I posted the same thing a few posts earlier, post #9, along with a suggestion that the players pick the caption they like best.

What about a drawing however it gives more of an advantage for the true TAR fans.

This drawing will only be for previous paid viewers. The more you have purchased streams the more chances your name will go into the drawing.

I think this really rewards the guys that have invested into your business.

Just an idea...

A contest for a contest? Sounds like an enigma, surrounded by a cloud of mystery...

How 'bout picking the winner from a pool of paid viewers during TAR 37? You know, you can have the drawing at half time, on Day 1.

This might go against FTC regulation and mother nature, but I think it might work...

If the data is available you could do a drawing from among all of the people who have bought the TAR 1 on demand video. It links nicely to this since this is the rematch in an all around format and it promotes your new(ish) on demand video service.
