Post

Do Shane wear contact lenses? Do he have 20/20 vision?

Question for Corey- do he remember the passion he had to play pool years ago ? Is the passion to play the same today? Of not why?

Question for Shane

I was talking with Mike Sigel today and he spoke very highly of you. Has Mike ever helped you with any aspect of your game?

Have either of you ever had a Perfect Aim lesson? If you haven't you should because Rodney Morris got a lesson and it helped him. Johnnyt

PS: If they haven't taken a lesson, this could be what's holding them back.

questions for SVB and Corey.. in 9 ball and 10 ball when applying english do you use parallel english, pivot english or is it just a combination of whatever feels most comfortable for the shot?

Both guys are awesome and its really difficult to root for one guy. Go SHAREY VAN DEULING

questions for both, and Justin can chime in on his thoughts as well.

When you two played your first TAR match, did you think that TAR would still be around years later, and have such a well polished product and avid following.

What were your thoughts going into the first match up? What are they like this time around?

What advantages do you feel you each have in this match? What about this match vs. last match?

---------------------------------------------

For Corey,

When you played Shane for the first TAR, were you cought off guard by Shane's ability?

Everyone says that you just can't fade SVB break. How do you plan to over come that in 9ball and 8ball?

is the drive to play at the highest level back, and here to stay?

Will you be soft breaking 9 ball, or "Framming" them?

-------------------------------------------------

Thought of a couple more.

Did you see the caption contest photos?

Did you have any captions of your own, and/or thoughts on some of the captions?

I've asked about this before, so maybe it's just a bad suggestion, but I'll try again...

I'd like to know their run-out thought process. Have them break and walk us through running out that rack ("I could do A or B on this shot, but I'm choosing A because..."). Basically how do they analyze the table layout and plan the run-out? Do they work back from the 10 or forward from the 1-ball?

It might be fun for them to do it Scotch doubles style like they'll have to do in the Mosconi Cup.

Or, you could ask them why Mike Dechaine has such a big head.

best player

We all talk about who the best player is and why. Always threads about Shane and no worlds / overseas, and others saying he may not have those titles but who can beat him.

So my question to these two top pros is ... What is your criteria for who the best player is right now? playing best at all games, titles, gambling etc and how they would weight say banks, rotation, one pocket, titles, gambling , when determining that.

Also get Shane to admit if he thinks he is the best and or who is, also Corey's opinion on the matter.

questions.

For Shane :-
When was the first time you played Corey ? Was it a gambling match or in a tourney ?

For Corey: -
1). I think you are very creative when it comes to pool. Do you think that creativity can be taught ?
2). When you were growing up were there a lot of pool players around you that did things differently ?

Questions for both of 'em :-
1). Name three pool players that you admire the most and why ?
2). When you were up and coming pool player what was one of the most important advice that you ever got regarding your pool game ?
3). What is one advice that you would like to give to young pool players ? And you can't say do drills or put more time on the table.
4). "Hard work and dedication will always win over natural talent". What you guys think ?
5). Who gave you nicknames like "prince of pool" and "south dakota kid" ?
6). And finally its more of a request than question, Can you please shoot a rack of 10 ball left handed for us viewers ?

Thanks to Justin for doing this.

please ask Shane a question I offered for TAR 30 podcast (it wasn't asked back then):
according to Lee Brett he worked on your stroke a bit, and you improved. Could you tell more about what he/you changed about the stroke which helped you?

Corey: You once told me you'd like to participate in Russian pyramid Worlds. Why don't you send an application to the organizers? I'm sure they'd love to have an American participant, especially of your caliber.

Both: please elaborate on your eye patterns during pre-shot routine.

Corey & Shane: On the forums we often hear the gripes of amateurs and promoters about various things in the pool world. What is YOUR biggest gripe about the pool world?

corey how did you develop such a fantastic stroke? Shane do you feel if your break wasnt better than your opponents that you would be where you are at in your career?

For Corey: I heard Jimmy Caras taught you some stuff....
What did you learn from him?
Also, what is Mr. Caras like?

Question for both, probably never asked before.

Have either player ever shot with a phenolic tip for a length of time?

I'm pretty sure I have seen Shane use his breaker as a handicap playing a set against someone. Not sure if it was phenolic or not, but I know the energy transfer is just outstanding using a phenolic tip and I actually use one so I'm just curious if a top pro player ever tried this? I don't have to hit the cue as hard to maneuver it around the table.
Thanks,
Tim

Both:

how many days of the year are you on the road?

Do you enjoy the traveling that pro pool requires or do you wish you had more time at home?

Shane: do you play golf? If so, are you a good player?

Corey: How frequently do you play golf? Do you think you had the talent to be a pro golfer if you dedicated as much time to golf as you did to pool at an early age?
