TAR match I would like to see

We watched a match where Earl made all the rules and Shane sat back and kept sayn yep lets play. How about a match where two players agree to play each other for however much they want but we set the game and rules. Justin get two players then set up a poll for the game 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, 1 pocket or 14.1. any possible rules are decided by a poll we decide without knowing the players and the players agree without knowing the game just that they would be playing whoever , run the polls for a week or two and then let everyone know what the match would be. I would like to see this but it maybe hard to find a match up where the players dont setup to there own strenths. I will just keep hoping to see pros have to adjust their games and battle it out.

Great idea -- but would you put up your money to play a game you didn't decide with rules you may not like? Nope. That's why this will never happen.
 
Yeah I know it wont but it would be good to watch players out of thier natural element maybe in a game they dont play often in a good straight pool match against another player who doesnt play it often see how they adjust to it.
 
If the choice of game was up to AZB my guess is One Pocket might receive far more votes than 14.1 and 10 Ball far more than both 14.1 and possibly 1 Pocket.
 
Anyone remember the Mizerak Challenge matches? 3 days, 3 different games. I believe they played 14.1, snooker and 9-ball. I would be interested in watching matches like that. Take players out of their element...
 
Yeah it would be up to the AZ crew to pick and whatever it was thats the game then any rules can be decided after the type of game is set like winner break, alternate or loser break or whatever the fourm would decide Id like to see a couple of guys who dont really like each other but want to beat them no matter what they are playing. maybe they could spice up the polls by removing the highest and lowest choice after the poll is done and re post it for game choice.
 
Take the top 3 choices and rotate the games would be good too 5 games of 8 ball 5 games of 9 ball 5 games of 10 ball then back to 8 ball that could be good to watch or some sort of variation of this.
 
This is easy. Get $10,000 together and you will find two players willing to play for it by any rules you want.

Edit: I'd like to see a night of sets between "bitter" rivals from AZB. Remember the OMGWTF vs. CUBC match? How about some more grudge matches like that but not 7 ahead stuff, just flat out dashes for the cash. Let AZB decide the top grudge matches and have the players play it out in say a race to 15 for $2k and a public "apology". AZB can also set the weight if weight is really needed. Weight can be declined by the person getting the weight but only with a no whining clause if they lose.

I am hoping to see a session of 8-ball on one of the new 10-foots between Darren Appleton and SVB with ~4 1/8th inch pockets. Darren does not like single long matches so perhaps 3 sets over 3 days, race to 17 for 5k or more per a set on each day.

Those two calibre players playing 8-ball on a 10-foot table with pockets cut exactly like the Fatboy rails would open alot of eyes to the potential of professional 8-ball when played on a table worthy of professional pool.
