TAR NEW RELEASE: SVB Instructional Series: Running Out with Free Bonus Interview

lol

I'm not very good at the internets.

I'm trying to download it to save permanently on my computer, is this possible?

[edit: JCIN says this is not true and the file should be fine: Beware, it's probably a very large file, and may not play with your standard video players.]

FWIW, I downloaded the TAR 34 matches, which were I believe from about 10 to 20 gigabytes and didn't even play in VLC for me, and then converted them with Handbrake to 1 to 2 gigabyte standard mp4 files.

The Instructional files are standard mp4 files.

They should work with any video player and are not unusually large.

The TAR match files are different because they are four to seven hours long and compressed with a different workflow.

I'm not sure if it's just me but I'm never able to get the videos to download. They get close, but they never work.

Also, Justin, PLEASE. Get the match of Deuel vs. Schmidt -- in particular, the OP where there's maximal sh1t talking. :)

Thank you! Love your product... and will definitely continue supporting any endeavors you guys do.

You're the man. I've been trying to figure out why VLC wouldn't play it. Hadn't crossed my mind to convert it... kept thinking it was a corrupted download.

Justin, BTW.... do you still need us to fix your keyboard?

That's strange. Are you able to watch online? The files are pretty big, but they are able to be downloaded for sure.

Absolutely. No complains - it's a generosity you allow us to DL... and the above comment (which I didn't see until after I made my previous remark) seems like a good solution... it probably is a VLC/QuickTime problem. I'll try it again. I have about 300 or so matches digitized. Always looking to expand my video library.

Speaking of! Man..... please keep rolling the TAR matches out. Earl vs. SVB on the 10 ft was so amazing. Watching Earl explode is like, one of my top 5 enjoyments in life. :)

The Instructional files are standard mp4 files.

After downloading, all the instructional vids are *.mov files.

Everyone just needs to download VLC player, watch everything TAR puts out through that and realize how versatile it with all media playback.

All of the SVB instructional videos are .mov h264 compressed quicktimes. I'd guess most computers come standard with quicktime.

The Reyes vs SVB one pocket match was 15.6GB downloaded. I watched it using VLC just fine, but it took a good 10 or 15 seconds after I hit play before it started (which is really rare). Once it started, it was smooth sailing.

On a slower computer, or with less memory, maybe it takes even longer to start playing OR can't handle it. I don't know. But rest assured, I played it with VLC.

1) Download latest VLC
2) Try playing it again
3) Wait longer than you waited last time. Then wait some more :P

Let me know if waiting works for you. I'm genuinely curious.

+1

Why only one year?

If it had been available for a week, people would say "Why only one week?"
If it had been available for a month, people would say "Why only a month?"
but I'm honestly surprised you asked "Why only one year?" when a download forever option is available :D

Great suggestions. I have a 2.6GHz Retina with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.... I don't know if it's even the specs that are causing the latency - but I have confidence in your suggestion.

Thank you very much.

I think it's a reasonable question, because all of the pay-to-download services that I'm aware of (e.g., Amazon, Apple, Google) keep your purchases for you to view in the future indefinitely. I don't know why Vimeo does not. The download option is of course nice, but it is true that Vimeo is the outlier here for limiting downloads to 1 year. Maybe this is TAR's decision, but I think in a previous thread they said it was a Vimeo limitation.

They're CHEAP. Who cares if it's a few bucks a year even? And that's only if you download it and lose it. No biggie. :)

One year is the longest duration option available on Vimeo for people to have access to the file. So thats why I use one year.

If someone wants to know why Vimeo does that they can ask them here: https://vimeo.com/help/contact

They have always been pretty good about answering anything I send them.

Good news and bad news.

Good news:
I figured out how to download the video and I have it on my computer.

Bad news:
The video is titled Mental Game but all it deals with is patterns and shot selection.

I did not receive the bonus material and that is all I really wanted.

Thanks for being one of the best shows in pool, just watching the TAR matches taught me a lot, buying this not really because I want to add another teaching video to my collection but because you deserve to be paid for the value of what you do. I guess money is real life Rep button :)

You can also count on me to shuttle food and drink to you during the Jr Nationals stream :)
